Isonews owner jailed for selling mod chips
David Rocci, former owner of the popular gaming website isonews.com, has been sentenced to 5 months in prison and fined $28,500 for selling Xbox mod chips. The Digital Millenium Copyright Act forbids the manufacture or sale of these chips as they can enable an Xbox to play pirated games.
The isonews.com domain was seized by the FBI in controversial circumstances last month. Fans of the site can still visit it by the ip address, as the servers are hosted outside the US. This is certainly a hefty punishment that will send a harsh warning out to anyone producing or selling mod chips on American soil. News of Rocci's imprisonment will undoubtedly cause outrage amongst civil rights activists who are proclaiming |
got off kinda easy for jail time, but 28k is a **** load of cash.

Shame about that man. Microsoft make enough money, and anyway what's wrong in selling Mod-chips, i don't see any harm in it. It's Pirated software that counts, but hey who gives a F*** about that, as we do it all on here.
It's it okay to add this URL Quall, it does not contain Porn banners or warez, it contains NFO files of released games, etc.. http:\\www.nforce.nl Don't wanna get banned. LOL::D |
Why would u need to know about 'released' games when all you people make your own backups, right? :p

ah and that site is ok i guess. It is nothing more than another isonews site. |
http://www.nforce.nl is outstanding the only problem with it is that it doesn't say what group it's on like nfonews.com
|
Ermmm... nforce is not supposed to tell you what group (I'm assuming newsgroups) 'releases' are on. Anyway topic is becoming a little too 'warezy' now. ;)
|
That's outrageous.........
What kind of message does that send, the only one I get is that we don't really live in a free society just one controlled by big business. You watch kiddie porn people here in Canada getting less than this ... If you ask me once you "purchase" a piece of property you own the said property...I didn't sign any piece of paper when I bough my XBox that said I couldn't modify it. Just the might MS flexxing it's muscle in other areas besides business
