AllStar Baseball 2004 and no-solder mod...
 

My bro-in-law has the no-solder chip with swap discs and couldnt get the All Star BAseball 2004 to work. The game worked fine on mine with the Magic2. Anyone else have problems? Are there other new baseball games out that will work with the swap discs??

That is one of the problems with the no solder mod and swap magic discs. Your brother and law would have better luck using a GS2 instead of the swap magics.

Never mind. Didn't know it was a v7. GS2 won't work for booting games.

Thats the only game that doesnt work. So is that tough **** for that game?

Yeah. He will just have to use the original.

I also had a problem with ALL STAR Baseball 2004. It would not boot with my no-solder/GS or Swap Magic. Wouldn't even boot using a V7 with Magic 2. I used Verbatim @ 1x, 2x and still no luck. If you do a search for "1rst coaster" you will find the thread.
I used a Memorex DVD-R burned at 1x and the game boots flawlessly with Swap Magic/No solder as well as my Magic 2. The game can be backed up! And YES, Swap Magic will boot it. Try a Memorex DVD-R or some other media. Hope that helps. :)

Ritek media will also backup this game perfectly.....

I have no problems using AllStar Baseball backup (ritek G03) on my PS2 which as the Magic2. I 've had terrrible results with Memorex dvd-r. Bought a 5 pack and got only 1 to work. Tried 3 of the discs for PS2 and got 1 to work. The other 2 discs i tried on movies which didnt work in my dvd player. I have never had any problems with Verbatim dvd-r or Ritek G03 media. Yeah i might have to try a different media. What version are the swap discs? (2.0?)

I personaly don't like Memorex either. Verbatim was perfect up until All Star 2004. It was my only coaster so far. :) All I can say is worked for me. Good luck! :) Oh yeah, almost forgot. I have Swap Magic 2.0. I use them on my V4. Hope that helps!
