Banned XBox
 

Just out of curiosity, how do you know when your XBox is banned from XBL?

i think when you try to get online, it says something like "cannot connect to xbox live" and asks you to check your settings. If all your settings are correct, then you are probably banned.

Okay let me give you the run down on what happened here.
I had a few friends over and I had SpliterCell (my back up running) on my XBox. I went into my computer room to set up XBox Connect so we could play Halo Online.

When I came back they had some how installed XBL from the SplinterCell back up, and it was in the process of updating my XBox... It hadn’t moved at all yet, I went over and flipped the switch on my surge-protector that my cable modem and router were plugged into. Asked them WTF they were doing and shut my XBox off. Turned it back on and sure enough, XBL was installed.

So by this time I though that this XBox was banned all ready. So I opened my XBox up, disabled my Matrix, and put it all back together. Turned it on and went into XBL. It just stayed there at the updating screen. Came back where an error “Unable to update. Try again later” or some thing like that.

So what you think? My ver1.0 banned? If it is I really don’t care, was never planning to get on XBL with it in the first place. When I wanted to I was going to buy a new XBox just for that.

If you went to download content while your bba was active (plugged in), and your modchip was on, then i regret to inform you that you have probably bean banned.

Oh well. Like I said, I was never planning to use XBL on this XBox any way.

you could change the fact that its banned though....
u just need another xbox that wont be using xbl

who wont be planning on using xbl
so u basically connect using xbl, making them think that you are using their xbox....

how to get it off another xbox
to get unbanned off xbl
but they mustve took it off

I already have myself a backup eeprom :). I suggest you find somebody who won't be getting cable anytime soon. Or just wait untill a friends power supply burns out, and give the xbox to you for nothing :p

Well it truns out my XBox wasnt banned. I guess there was a prob with the updating server at the time I was trying to get the update. Went in, pulled my chip, got XBL running and it connected and updated it self.

Still going to get a new XBox when it comes times for me to get on XBL.
