Splinter Cell 3rd Disc vs. CloneCd

DEAR ALL!!

Im trying to make a backup of SPLINTER CELL (PC) game.
Im using ClonyXXL to detect the copy protection, and CloneCD (latest version) to make an image & burn.

As you know SPLINTER CELL contains 3 discs, the first two copied perfect, cause according to ClonyXXL there's no a copy protection.

The third disc contains SafeDisc v2.8 Copy Protection!
After the SafeDisc v2.8 detection I start CloneCd, and the progress of reading the disc stays at 0%, and it doesn't move forward! Am I doing something wrong, or I should use diffrent software like ALCOHOL 120% (latest version), which according to some people on this forums is a good software to copy COPY PROTECTED PC & PS1 games!!

I always used CloneCd to copy PC games & PS1 games and till now I had no problems.

Im running on WinXP and using PIONEER AO5 CD/DVD writer..which worked 101% with my previous burns !!

I hope some1 can help me.....

THANX...........BIGpol

If you wait long enough, the copy will proceed at normal speed. This is because of the bad sectors in the safedisc 2 protection. Either you just wait and let it copy (can take up to an hour), or you use the following Daemon Tools trick :

FastDump is a feature of Daemon Tools/FantomCD/Alcohol 120% that allows you to quickly dump SafeDisc protected cd.

Quick mini-howto:
Insert the protected cd into the drive.
Enable Bad Sectors Emulation/SafeDisc Emulation in Daemon Tools/FantomCD/Alcohol 120%.
Run the installed game.
Quit the game and don't remove the cd.
Read the cd with Your favourite cd-cloning software like Alcohol 120%/FantomCD/CloneCD/BlindWrite Suite etc. bad sectors reading will be skipped and the digital signature will be generated automatically.
Disable Bad Sectors Emulation/SafeDisc Emulation.

Note that you only have to install Daemon Tools and follow the instructions of the trick, this works great.

ALCOHOL 120%

I installed ALCOHOL 120% on my PC, but it created a new DVD/CD Drive and my PC keeps restarting/crashing.

I'll try the CloneCd waiting option

I'll be back soon.......

HELLO!
You were right, all it took its a little of waiting, and the reading of the 3rd disc went ahead...............but.............the backup didnt work...

The drives don't recognize the disc and nothing is happening. When I put the backup disc into any of the drives & try to open/explore/right click....NOTHING!!
ANY SUGGESTIONS ????

PS.....I WAS PLAYING A GAME WHILE I WAS BURNING THE DISC....COULD THAT BE THE PROBLEM !!!???
SHOULD I TRY ANOTHER DICS & LEAVE MY PC ALONE TILL IT FINISHES BURNING.......................

THANX

You should definitely let the pc burn the CD first, otherwise you might end up with a bad copy. Give it a try again but leave it alone wilst burning the disc..

Use Alcohol 120%. Ever since I used it, I've made perfect 1:1 copies of all of my games like Splinter Cell, Mafia, Warcraft 3, Syberia, Unreal 2, etc.

Try using the latest version which is 1.4.1.221. If you set up too many virtual CD-ROMS, you may have a problem. I set it to a low number like four and turn on all emulations.
