Hi Jägermeister, I'm not sure if I understand your problem correctly. You took the NFS:HP2 CD out of the CD-ROM, ran the game, installed onto the hard disk and now it bugs?
Well, unless you're using a fixed EXE, it should be crying for an original CD; unless you're using a no-CD patch, it should be crying for (any) CD. If it's really messed up, it might not find out that it's running entirely (?) from hard disk and, instead of displaying a message "File X not found", it just gets killed... If you _do_ have an original CD then I suggest that you try it on another PC and/or under another opearing system. Also, note that this forum is _not_ about solving general gaming problems... Joe |
hey m8...
read the crack instructions! copy the needed dirs from the cd to the game install dir and it should be fixed READ THE README / *.NFO FILE! |
I m having the same problem this messege shows up:
--------------------------- Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 (exception error) --------------------------- (Hit Cntrl-C to copy this info to the clipboard) The thread attempted to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access. Version: 242 EIP = 0x005C4906 ESP = 0x0012FBC8 EBP = 0x0012FE14 EAX = 0x01EE02AC EBX = 0x0000000C ECX = 0x00000003 EDX = 0x7EFEFEFF ESI = 0x00000000 EDI = 0x01EE02AC --------------------------- OK --------------------------- |

Hot Pursuit 2 v242 [ENGLISH] No-CD/Fixed EXE 28-02-2003
DiNO-BYTES File Archive [1.1 MB] "OrEoZ" have write: hey m8... read the crack instructions! copy the needed dirs from the cd to the game install dir and it should be fixed READ THE README / *.NFO FILE! Play Instructions: Install the game - Full Installation. Apply the official NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 v242 Patch. Replace the original NFSHP2.EXE file with the one from the File Archive. Copy the following directories from the CD to the game directory: actors AI Audio Cars Movies Particle Tracks Play the Game! Have you realy make all this in order and right place?? If all it's maked clear, than try to use an older video driver like nvidia 80.82 if you have nvidia chip. |
wasnt the No-CD/Fixed EXE just a loader from what i can remember from DEViANCE and IMMERSiON team
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Safedisc didnt CD-writer have problem reading them |
Yes, you need the no-CD/fixed EXE by DiNO-BYTES. The fixed EXE's only allow you to use a backup CD but you still need a CD as the game reads many files from there. With a no-CD, the files are searched for on the hard disk instead, that's why you have to copy them there manually.
I've just tested the game with this no-CD: it works, even with the very latest nVidia v180.46 drivers, although, for some cars (in some screen resolutions?), the RPM/speed gauges are missing from the HUD. |
