How to use a Virtual Drive for Battlefield 1942

I'm trying to run Battlefield 1942 1.2 from my Hard-drive by using a virtual cd drive. But I can't get it to work. I tried Hekko but it will not image the cd correctly. Nero won't make a ISO file of this CD so I can't use Nero Image drive. It reports an error that the cd is in the wrong mode for burning. Virtual Drive 7 seems to work. I load the image into the drive and autorun starts the control panel. But when I click play the game the computer locks up. Does anyone know of a Virtual drive program that will work with this game?

Try Alcohol 120% here http://www.alcohol-soft.com/

Thank-you

I wanted to thank-you. Alcohol 120% worked!!!!!!!!!
It made a perfect 1:1 ISO image. I loaded it into the virtual drive and the game played.
I tried burning the ISO to a disk but it wouldn't play, but you can't have everything :)

I have found my new burning software for protected cds.

Just a quick note on this one. I had the same problem trying to burn ISO's, all I did was mount the iso on a virtual drive, then set this as the read drive in nero etc then use copy disc. voila one working copy.

pcCowboy,

i'm trying to do the same thing with alcohol120%, but with no success. while making the image, i get like millions of errors and it take's like 3 hours. i mount the image (using alcohol120%) but it still asks for the cd! i selected sefedisk2 as the protection.

Maybe my settings is wrong?

Any help?

btw : i am running ver 1.3.1 (of battlefield 1942).

thx
