Color Problem with NTSC Games and Magic 3

Hi !

I just got my PS2 back with Magic 3 installed in it (PAL V4 btw). All my PAL Backups PS1/PS2 work fine so far but when i try playing NTSC games the screen is shifted and the game is only displayed in black and white. I tried 3 cables and it didnīt work with any of them. I know my TV can display NTSC since he did so all the time with my PS1. The NTSC games also seem to run slower than normal, probably 50 Hz instead of the 60 they are supposed to. Is this a known problem ? And can it be resolved ?

Any help would be appreciated !

Try the NTSC/PAL Colour Fix. This is documented for v4 in the Messiah2 install guide at www.messiah2.com and will force PAL out the back of the PS2 for all games, NTSC and PAL alike.

First of i have the MAGIC3, NOT the Messiah 2 ... And the second thing i want to know is wheter i need to reopen my PS2, or even change the whole chip to fix it.

Another Problem would be .. if they force Pal output, arenīt there some problems regarding speed ? I donīt want NTSC games to run slower, especially when playing Fighting Games.

I can read. Try the NTSC/PAL Colour Fix like I said. You would open the PS2 and do what it says in the guide to which I pointed you.

There are no problems of the sort you describe. The games are all the same across all regions except for the region code placed into the groove wobble(which I can't be bothered to explain!).

You want the cure? Listen to Charlie.

Well i talked with a guy of the store that installed the chip and they said itīs a mistake of themselves, exactly with the problem you described.

So i am sending the PS2 back to them for free and they wonīt charge me a zenny (to much into RO right Now ^^).

So thank you all.
