Confused
Ok, I have a NEO2.2b chip installed in my PS2 I purchased a DVD burner last night Panasonic not sure of model number but it burns both DVD-r and DVD-rw but am I stupid to assume that I can copy my originals and that they will work, do I need a new chip?
Sorry for the confusion |
Try booting a dvd-r backup of your orignal game with this method.
How to boot DVD-R (only) with AR2/GS2 V2x • Insert AR2/GS2 • Power down console, wait 5 sec, and restart console by pressing and holding reset. (Dont let go) • After GS2 completely loads, swap with original dvd game.(high TOC) • Wait about 15 sec and select Gameshark codes (or ar2 codes) and turn on or off any code on any game. • Press start, select with codes and press x to load game. • You will see a black screen saying "updating codes please wait" at this time release the reset button, tray will eject, swap with backup, tray closes and game loads. NOTE: You can try burning on a dvd-rw first so if it doesn't work you could just erase the disc.. Although unless you have a V5 or higher PS2 the -RW disc may not work... |
thats what i did when i had a neo 2.2 (good Chip) LOL

and it played dvd-r's ? no problem?
|
no problem at all

I know I will be upgrading shortly but just wanted to make sure the Neo2.2 worked for DVD-r's until I upgrade my chip .. Thanks

A neo 2.2 will only boot dvd-r on versions 1,2,3 and 4. It dont work on v5,6 and 7.
