just confirming what a 1:1 copy is exactly;

is it where u write the image at the same speed as you read it?

a 1.1 copy is a exact bite for bite copy of a disc the software for this is clone cd

sorry for being ignorent dude. i'm pretty new to this my self i mainly just use nero for all my backups with the exception of dvd's for this i use dvd encrypter

so if i read an image at 4x then burn it at 4x, that is classed as a 1:1 copy?

In a backup sense the only correct definition is

"A 1:1 copy is that facsimile reproduced on a recordable cd media which will install and run the application stored upon it"

However, if you mean in a physical sense, the only true 1:1 copy of a pressed original cd is another, pressed original cd.
