So i can do a straight dvd copy from my dvd burner no special software just nero?

Jay_83 04-12-2002 12:22

as long as your version of nero supports dvd writing then yep. All i've ever done is click dvd copy, set the speeds then leave it and its worked 100% for me!

hope this helps
:p

check out the tutorials over at www.psxcopyworld.co.uk

best software for PrimoDVD (for DVD) and CloneCD (for CD)

you obviously need a DVD burner such as the Pioneer A04 if you wish to backup DVD based games.

Ok thank, I have read... so where do you get the actual burning software? Can you download it or do you have to purchase it?

Jay_83 04-12-2002 12:26

just out of curiousity, why is it you say they are the best?
i've never had any problem with my a04 using the nero software it came with. worked 100% everytime.

not a dig, just curious thats all

Dont get me wrong, I think Nero is a very useful backup tool, however from personal experience I would recommend PrimoDVD for DVD based games and CloneCD for CD based games. CloneCD is the only software that will create a 1:1 cd-r copy.

In a list of 1/2/3

DVD
1. PrimoDVD/RecordNow Max
2. Nero
3. Discjuggler

CD
1. CloneCD
2. CDRWin
3. Nero

eastcostguy - check out my site under the playstation page for links to burning software - http://psxpaul.cjb.net

Any dvd burners to stay away from? As you can see im really new at this and I appreciate your help. Just do not want to waste to many dvdrs making unecessary mistakes.

psx_paul 04-12-2002 12:40

where do you live? we can give you links to best sites for purchasing.

Personally I would stick with the Pioneer range of burners - A03/A04/A05.

To backup a PS2 dvd using a dvd burner ... is there any patches that have to be applied to the backup?

Jay_83 05-12-2002 07:55

nope, patches arn't needed for dvd backups. Just make a straight copy.

Unless you need to covert Pal to NTSC or vice versa.
