itīs protected with Protect CD. (like Port Royale)

is there a public unwrapper available ?
does anybody know how to unwrapp protect cd by hand ?
are there some tuts ?

Monty Burns 03-12-2002 12:00

I know a r!sc tut, but skijump challenge is probably protected with the latest protect cd 5 version, isn't it??

Anyway, go here and have a look at the settlers 3 tut.

cdkiller 03-12-2002 12:37

thanks Monty
i will have a look at r!sc tut.
skijump challenge is protected with ProtectCD 5.01
(shown verison in Registry).

i own "settlers 3" so i can learn how to unpack Protect CD :-)

i downloaded SoftIce 4.05 NT but it makes my WinXP Pro. SP1
crash when loading :(
is there another way to unpack Safedisc, SecuROM and
Protect CD without using softice ?

Monty Burns 03-12-2002 13:22

As far as I know, the latest version of softice is xp compatible. Maybe you want to try ollydebug, which isn't too bad either, bad nothing can beat softice, when it gets hard ;)

cdkiller 04-12-2002 08:23

@VLuka

whatīs the latest version of sofice and SoftICE Driver Suite ?

Monty Burns 04-12-2002 12:18

Look here e.g. for latest info.

cdkiller 04-12-2002 12:44

thanks again

i have succesfully unwrapped an older protect cd version by using r!sc tut about "Settlers 3". it all works fine.

but the new protect cd version has completely changed with all new sections etc...

i still need more tutorials to improve my cracking skills ;)

Monty Burns 04-12-2002 12:49

I know. I have already tried without success so far. I have also cracked some older versions, but I cannot pass by this one. Well, I am not a professional after all!
I hope you will do it and post a tut somewhere ;) ;)

or does anybody know a tut about this one?

cdkiller 05-12-2002 11:15

i searched the whole web,
but i only found on tut (settlers 3).

i need more experience in unwrapping protected exe files.

is there a good tutorial site with Sefedisc and SecuROM tuts ?

ByteMare 06-12-2002 10:47

well, if can can do spanish you may check out go.to/karpoff

cdkiller 08-12-2002 12:24

i looked at some tuts on this site.
but there are no tuts about games.
only about programs wich are protected with Asprotect, NeoLite...

i need more safedisc, securom, vab protect cd tuts.

ByteMare 10-12-2002 09:35

Click on "Juegos", then "Tutoriales"...there is not much there but at least there is something

Umm...just found an intresting tut at cdchecks.cjb.net it's in french but it seems to be about safedisc 2.70 :D :D

cdkiller 10-12-2002 12:18

http://cdchecks.cjb.net/ has a mafia tut BUT its written in frensh.
i learned frensh 2 years at school but i didnīt remember much ;)
the other tuts are old games mainly protected with
lame cd-checks or safedisc v1.
