dvd reader
I have all ready placed and order for my Sony DRU-500A. I was wondering if I should also buy a dvd reader. I know I dont have to but what does everyone else suggest? Using a reader and a burner I could do a disc to disc burn, but how acurate is the burn? Any suggestions?

Why buy somthing you dont actually need? Just let your Sony do all the work. Stick in the original, let it read it, then stick in your blank media and burn.
|
Why indeed...
You don't neeeeed it, but later on down the line it might be nice. Only $30 or so for a nice liteon. But as the man said. No need.
Ohyeah Lets call the boys.. Lets run a train... |
OK...... I'm going to disagree with you two on this..... (See, I like causing trouble :D )
Me personally, I would get a seperate reader... Here is the reason: Why put the extra abuse on a $350 dollar burner, when you can put the extra abuse on a $30-40 dollar reader? The other reason: When you are ripping things such as dvd movies to your hard drive, a dvd writer is MUCH slower than a dvd reader at this.... And the final reason: If you spend a little extra money on a GOOD reader, you can copy on the fly with no problem....(Saves ALOT of time)..... OK.... You can YELL at me NOW..... |
what you talking about willis?
Well, I said it would be nice... $30-$40 to a college boy like me thats like 7-8 meals, a nice trip to the nuddie bar, or a whole gallon of southern comfort... boy I just don't know...
Ohyeah College is goood |
AHHHH BG! Just kidding:D This is all about personal preference. Do whatever pleases you.

Southern Comfort sounds good. :p

So, what is a good dvd reader to get? Main purpose would be to read sony ps2 games.
