hey anyone know were i can get a rip kit for us/ntsc gta vice city
and i have a magic 2 chip

There probably isn't one available at the moment since the game has only just been released in the US. Another thing, why would you wanna use a rip kit for it anyway since your gonna have to downsample FMV's, etc and take stuff out if necessary. If you say you have a Magic 2 chip then get the full dvd version, direct boot for DVD-R's. Then at least you can enjoy the game as it's meant to be, that's if you have a DVD writer of course.

Your right about it not being availiable yet. It is being worked on furiously.

I will post it as soon as it has been ripped.


By the way HANS, not all rips have stuff taken out. Some only have dummy files taken out and the full game is still there.

Ive seen a ripped version that is only 300MB it must have so much missing

I seriously doubt you saw a Vice City rip that small and if you did it was most likely a fake.

I know the inner workings of Vice City all it is is a bunch of copycat files I would say that about 8 large files are exact copies of each other just to fill in space.

But the only reason it cant be ripped is because it has a file size check, that checks the size of certain files to see if they are correct. If they are not correct then the game doesnt boot.

Just get a DVD burner. CD Ripping is in its age and games are becoming too clever for rip kits now. By the way, GTA Vice City is coming to England on Saturday! My mate has pre ordered it at GAME and i'm going to "borrow" it of him Monday morning! Better get some more DVD-R before then ;) . Can't wait...

yes well i don't have a dvd writer :( and i do not have the money to get one so i think i will just wait for a rip kit, that and my pc is to slow for one:mad:

why bother making a ripped backup of your original anyway

Yea i agree with "lufcfan" on this, CD Ripping is in its age and games are becoming too clever for rip kits now.

rips suck and are a cop out, Ive been saying this for months

if u cant afford a dvd-r drive then tough luck.

It's pretty damn easy to dis Rips if you're a lazy spoonfed bastard who
has all the latest TOYS. Ohhh, your on top of the scene with your
expensive DVD burners. If anything's a cop out it's burning DVD-R's,
that must be a challenge for you guys huh!? "Insert source...
insert destination" Oh you must be so proud of yourselves... and go
online and tell everyone how lame you are if you don't DVD!

While some DVD games don't convert to CDR well, many others do. There
are some cool rips, Jak n' Daxter Ripped on a CDR with a TOC of 1.3 Gig,
now that's what it's all about. We need more cool rippers!!

First.... I am really PISSED about "spoonfed bastard who has all the latest TOYS".... I can't speak for everybody, BUT I WORKED MY ASS of to get enough money to buy a DVD burner..
The only COP OUT with using a dvd burner is we get to enjoy the games the way they were meant to be (FULL GAMES)....

Ripping is cool, I'll admit that....BUT it is becoming outdated....When Xenosaga is broken so we can put it on dvd-r, that will be cool also, BUT how are YOU going to get 9 gigs on a cd-r?????
