new protection???
 

I came across a new piece of software today but was aware of a clever protection they have encorporated, on the cd about 5mm from middle there are two holes as if drilled but not quite all the way through can anyone tell me what type of protection this is plz???:confused:

the protection is "securom new" !!! there is no way to copy!!!:( :mad: :(

SERIOUSLY this is not securom new as clonyxxl would pick it up, the underneath of the cd has 2 very small holes drilled into it about 1 cm from inside and about 5mm apart from each other, i went and bought it just as a reminder of what could be coming!

Why should renewing a subject piss of the mods, after all, all im doin is renewing a subject i need help in, isn't that what this forums for???????? and plus within a day or so the subject ****s off onto another page where not alot of people tend to go!

In this particular thread, i am talking about backing up an original piece of software (TractorDJ) i wouldn't start entering threads if i could do this myself, i went and bought the original and there seems to be no way in this universe that it can be backed up!!!!! i and several others from the shop i got it from have tried every way to get this one copied but still haven't had any joy!! An example of how back to front some software companies are.........:

Cubase VST 5.0 (Easy as hell to backup) - A hell of a lot of money!


Tractor DJ (No way to copy yet) - Cheap as shit!

If i think i have a point to make i will make it, and i don't think that this thread has posed to be idiotic or made up, so please respect the fact that i am just here to get help from the proffesionals!¬!!!!!!

The mods (and other people including me) get 'pissed off', because you post a meaningless message just 24 hours after your last, just to keep your little thread at the top of the board. Presumably you do this because you never bother to read further back than one page and you fear other users are equally lazy, so you'll just have to shove the thread back in their ungrateful faces. :mad:

This board has its threads sorted on date/time of last reply, PLUS it has a handy icon in front of the threads which indicates whether a new message was posted in that thread since the readers last visit. Personally, I use it like it's meant to be and each time I visit the site, I read all threads with interesting subjects which have new replies, even if I have to go back two or more pages to see all threads with new messages. If some people don't go back a page, that doesn't give you the right to spam meaningless messages just to get your favorite thread back to top. Do this only and only when you haven't got any new answer for a week and you are desperate to get some help. If everyone started to do this, it would become impossible for anyone to find the threads with a real new reply between all the threads with 'bump', 'renew', 'come on, people' etc....

Maybe you didn't know how impolite and annoying this was, so I'll just leave it at this. If all this sounded a bit angry, bear in mind that you DID annoy me :mad: In the future, whenever you have a great idea like 'What if I just bumped my thread ? Then everybody has to read it ! what a great idea !', just pause and consider what chaos would break out if everyone did it. Now I am not a moderator, but I do try to help people out and that means trying to read as many threads as possible. I can't read them all, so I just read the subjects and see if it's interesting. Imagine what it's like for moderators, who are supposed to keep an eye on every thread ?

Well, I'm done ranting... Just don't do it anymore and we'll be fine, ok ?

I DO see what you are saying RINCE but considering this was the first and only time i have put "just renewing this page" i don't see how i can be a threat to those who matter here!

I have listened to what you all think about this and it has taken heed, but i haven't been foruming for long and just wanted help for a lagitimat thread, i am sorry if this minor offense has pissed you all off, and i will not renew my threads again, its just a few people have been asking wether or not i have found a way around this yet, so i thought i could speed the process up a bit by renewing but i now understand that this is not a good idea.

This was slowly but surely heading to an all out flame war, but there's no reason for that kind of thing now. As I already mentioned, you probably didn't know. Well, all's forgiven as far as I'm concerned. Your mistake wasn't even so big, but just imagine the nightmares for the mods if everyone bumped like crazy. Each day I try to read as many threads as possible, but this just isn't possible, so I have to try to pick out the interesting ones based on their subject line.

For the record, your thread was one of those I read. If you have anything important to add to the thread, just do so, it's what it's there for. But don't go bumping around, the board's quite busy enough.
