Backing up Gran Turismo 2

I have never done this before. I have Clone CD and CDRWIN. I looked up the game to see if it was protected and it wasn't, but I when I tried to copy the game with Clone CD, it wouldn't boot on my playstation. What did I do wrong or what do I have to do differently to make a backup that works like the origional?

I had the same problem. Arcade cd works fine but simulation cd hangs when loadinG right! Easy answer. Use blind write suite to copy it and you'll have no problems!!

so whats blind write suite, also a burnin program? ive got nero , but i heard on this forum only clonecd and some other program can make 1:1 copy's. But i made a copy from WCW vs the world with clonecd and it didnt work(see my other thread in forum). So please can someone tell wich one is the best?

go to:

http://www.cdrsoft.cc/index3.html

select downloads, scroll down to cdr software, select vso from the list and blind write suite is there for download. It's basically 2 programs. Blind read and blind write. Blind read is excellent for making disc images allowing you to decide what sort of image you want to make (ISO,CDRWIN compatible etc). So make a cd image with blind read and burn it back to cdr using blind write. Never use nero or easy cd creator for anything psx as its too hit and miss. I know for a fact that it works on GT 2 as I had the same problem.Blind write suite should be the only program you need, however clone CD is also very good available from the same site under CDR - elaborate bytes, but blind write suite should solve all your probs. Hope this helps. Also never make 1 to 1 or on the fly copies. Always create an image on HD then burn back to cdr.

:p

nero is just as good for psx games as cdrwin but cdrwin is more user friendly!!

leave poor nero alone! nero has done the job for me numerous times in the past, sort of a last choice program but still works.

Yeah.Nero is good program. I s'pose its just a matter of wot works for you. Have had some bad experiences with nero but no problems with blind write so tend to always use it. There is also the problem of nero not copying sub channel data on cd's which can cause problems on some psx games ( Gran turismo 2 for one!). Blind write doesn't suffer from that problem cos it copies sub channel as well. At the end of the day everyone has their own favourite copy prog and with a bit of time you'll make up yr own mind. Best way is to have all of them and experiment.
