Fed up with R18 hidden files ?
Well, they often hide some files like 1st_read.bin in their releases, and they use several methods. I've found ways to unhide these files. One of them is quite difficult to explain, but the other one is simple :
_ if you use CDMage, you can get "1st_read.bin.associated", so you can extract all the files, rename ".bin.associated" files to ".bin" files and reburn your CD. It's quite annoying _ so, open your image with HEdit and look for "1st_read.bin". Some bytes before, you should find "20 04 00 00 01 00 00 01 ...". Simply replace it by "20 00 00 00 01 00 00 01 ...". Do that with every ".associated" files you could get with CDMage. Obviously, if you can't find any of these files and if there's still hidden files, there's another method to unhidden the files. If you need it, I'll explain it to you. |
never had that problm before....whats it about?

R18 (Hooligans) is a group that releases some DC games (mostly japanese games). In most of their releases, they hide some files, like 1st_read.bin, in order to avoid people copying it (I suppose).
So, if you need to patch 1st_read.bin, or just want to make the game selfboot, you can't find the boot file unless you unhide it. |
ahh yeh, heard of them, jeard they do some dodgy rips like head hunter and sonic adventure 2, i've always tried to avoid downloading there stuff

I try to have the full collection of DC games, so I had some of their releases. They made some great ones, but I think they're too paranoid...
Anyway, since I want all my games selfboot and PAL compatible, I had to unhide the files. |
