Read error on copying....
 

Trying to copy Wild Wild Racing which is a CD-Rom. I'm using CloneCD with read sub data channels, read sub audio channels and abort on read error. i have selected different read speeds but doesnt matter. When it hits 77% it stops and say read error at 19,xxx sector. I tried cleaning and polishing it but nothing. Anyone have any ideas to clean the surface? it doesnt look too bad.

Do a thorough search of your disc, look for little scratches on the label side of your disc. If you have a scratch on that side your disc is ruined.

I have come across this once. It was so small I could barely see it. I had to test it by touching it my my felt tip marker and when I saw that it blead through I knew there was no fixing it.

well its a Blockbuster rental. So if its damages i dont care but still would like to copy it.

Try another disc.

Try to take it back telling them it wont work on your ps2 and see if you can get a different copy.(if they have one)

I also rented Crash Bandicoot which copied fine. Might try to polish the disc a little more and see what happens. If it wont work then i will complain to the goobs at BB.
