backing up dual layered 9.4gb dvds

There was some talk about this a while ago, although I didnt take it in much, as I wasnt so deeply involved in dvd as I am now, so I apologise if I'm posting 'old hat' however I'm sure it'll be of interest to some.

There are a lot of dual layered dvd's on market now, not to be confused with dual sided, (like I once did! Doooh!) ok, so older n wiser,.... the way to backup these is to rip to hard drive (you need a big hard drive, obviously 10gb spare), then split into two vob file packets,(with help of an iso prog), then burn to either a double sided dvd-r, or two single dvd-r's, both readily available nowadays.

You need two programs, and about 8 steps, and a lot of time, ripping is slooooow stuff as film is being decoded and its at frame by frame rate, however its no big drama, just put on to cook, n leave to boil for x hours overnight. (depends on drive read speeds etc)

To make it easy, heres a link that'll tell you the whole story word by word, picture by picture, if you follow it exactly you cant go wrong, I've tried n tested it, and vouch it works.

So whoever said how do we copy a dual layered single sided 9.4gb dvd................................heres how:-

Enjoy in smug satisfaction that it can be done!
