Question for Moderator
I have a question for the Moderator, mainly so I don't enter any 'Stupid Idiot Posts'. When you say it is legal to make a Backup of a game, do you mean just a Playdisk, or one that can Install the game as well. Let me clarify my case. Renagade (PC) checks for the original disk in the Setup.Exe when you try and install the game, and so making a copy using normal backup methods results in a game which won't install i.e.asks for the original disk. I notice there are many cracks on this site for the actual game EXE, but not for the actual install EXE. Have you simply not received this file, or are you holding it back? Could you please give an answer. The reason for this post is as follows. About 2 months ago I purchased a secondhand copy of Emperor Battle for Dune from my local shop (Gamestation, UK). Being a Wstwood Studios game, the Install Exe. was protected as usual. The problem was the game kept asking for the CD during install, meaning I could not even install it, let alone play it. I gave Westwood a call, and to my amazement they E-Mailed me a fixed install Exe, which together with a Crack from this site allowed me to play the game. The point I am making is that in my case a Crack was VITAL to my playing the game even though I bought the original! Although everyone will say it is my CD ROM Drive, I have replaced it yet still am having problems, particularly it seems with many games using the latest version of safedisc. I purchased renegade last Friday, and still cannot install it. I only have a 10 day return limit, so am wondering if I will ever see an Install EXE (Westwood won't help, probably because the game is so new). I also got Virtua Tennis today and am having similar problems with it. It is very sad when a legitimate owner has to wait for a crack in order to play a game. It's ironic that I've been enjoying the Demo, but can't yet play my Original! I am not using this post to ask for files, just to really try and give an idea of why this site has been so invaluable to me over the past few months. Thanks for listening.
