doesn't any body know how to convert a IDE burner to a SCSI??i am about to give up on this whole
 

i have left several posts but noone has replied.all i need is an answer.IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONVERT A IDE BURNER TO A SCSI?????I HEARD IT IS.MAYBE THEY ARE WRONG.PLEASE if you know some1 or somewhere i can find out then reply or email me.thanx in advance.

No, I'm afraid they are physically & electrically different - both the drives themselves and the interfaces they use.

To use a SCSI decvice you just need a SCSI card, eg Adaptec 2920. They are more efficient than IDE burners as they have their own "intelligence" and don't burdon the system as much, BUT IDE is where most of the development action is, and machines are that fast these days that, coupled with "burn-proof" technology, are very stable.

Actually a very stupid question.
It can be done, you will need to get the SCSI version logic card of your burner
and throw out the ide one.
Fit the SCSI logic and keep your fingers crossed that you haven't damaged any
of the connecting cables.

Apologies - I didn't know you can change the drive like this; it does sound tricky and if it were me I'd just sell one drive and get another.
