The Sims series is one of the hardest games to back up. Sims isn't so bad. It is protected by: safedisk. Easy to override using clone cd. If you get a program called clonyXL it will scan the disks and tell you what program it was protected with and give you settings to use for clone cd.
I have been trying since Xmas to back up Sims Hot Date, protected by: safedisk V2. That is the hardest protection to crack. Clone Cd can't do it right now. I have read though that if you have top of the line hardware, it will override it. Top of the line meaning a Plextor 16x24x40. Out of my price range right now so just have to hope my son don't damage the $30 disk in the mean time. Don't know if this information will help you or not.
