cheekymonkey 26-06-2001 16:11

nup..nothing happens at all! I've even went as far as taking one of the two cd-drives out.
I'm running win98 SE, geforce card, DX8.0a and still the game refuses to ####t!!! argh!!

r u running it from back up copy or original? will it work with no cd patch?

Try to press alt+tap one time, then press alt+tap to go back to the game. Worked for me..

I have exactly the same problem! I've been waitin' for months and finally got the game and after installing I too get the Op Flash splash screen then then drive dies. I tried it on both my DVD and Burner and nothing happens! I too have W98SE, GeForce, Direct X 8.0a!

For a NoCD-Patch look here:
www.germanflag.6x.to

No idea, whether FADE (if it exist at all) "likes" this exe.

kevinandperrygolarge 27-06-2001 12:28

i made a back up that works so far an hour into playing without experiencing any problems that this FADE protection is suppose to cause.
copy using clone and the settings for safedisc 2 and read and burn at x2 speed .
i sent the patch that i found to WWW.MEGAGAMES.COM and it works absolutely no problems whatsoever.

cheekymonkey 27-06-2001 12:55

acutally, it seems tons of others are having this problem getting their game to ####t! Apparently its got to do with the copy protection on the cd..some cd-roms(i would say bloody majority) dun read it too well...but then...I have a plextor 12/10/32A which is suppose to be able to read all sorts of crap with no hassle!! anyway...go have a read at the Flashpoint forum! i just pissed i brought this game and having the copy protection crap spit right back at my face!!! oh well...gonna return it back to the shops!

ATIRADOR 27-06-2001 20:20

I have copy the original with clonecd version 3.0.2.3 , with no-cd from megagames ( windows ME ) , works very well , FADE protection , i have made 4 missions , it´s the same ! Try copying with clone , but plextor , sony , HP , have take the raw sao for their CDRW´s , so they aren´t good to use with clone ( safedisk 2 ) , my CDRW is a Ricoh MP 7083A , copy´s everything so far with clone .

brad 28-06-2001 01:07

you mention settings for safedisk2, is that fast error skip? i had no boxes ticked and my copy seems to work fine(philips burner used)

ATIRADOR 28-06-2001 20:08

The new version of clonecd doesn´t need to ##### box because it will do this automatic , just copy the original and wait to finish , and play .

YEAH! I solved my OF problem! even though the website technical FAQ states that Daemon tools will conflict with the game...Playbackup drivers will do it also!!! I never had Daemon tools on my pc but i did install playbackup a while back...removed it...re####ted and problem solved!!!

not sure 01-07-2001 23:32

playbackup 2.1 is blacklisted in safedisc version 2, release 2, i guess that is how you would say it.

confirmed with this protection for the us is ####topia, gangsters2, and dune.

i hope there is a playbackup update to put the losers at macrovision at bay.

macrovision sux donkey balls.....:)

cheers and good luck,

chad
