PLEASE, HELP!! Heart of Winter won't work...any advice?
 

My last attempt at salvation (har-har)...

Well, I know this may seem a little late for this game, but here goes...

Like every other Black Isle/D&D game, I'm not able to play it without a no-cd patch. I've followed every step PRECISELY for the latest no-cd patch for Icewind Dale including Heart of Winter. Did the full install for Icewind... Did the full install for Heart of Winter... Extracted the no-cd patch to the game directory... Executed the patch for the IWDMain.exe .... And...

...where it should say patch (or crack) successful, I get an error message saying 'Wrong version or file already patched.' !#@?! I know I've done everything right, because the steps are identical for Baldur's Gate 2. For that one, again, I recently followed the steps PRECISELY, and it works just fine - no problems.

I'm pretty sure it boils down to the .EXE file, but what to do?? Is there another way to remove the cd-##### to allow for no-cd play?? Or does the problem reside elsewhere??

Anyway, like I said, I know this seems a little late, but if there's any advice, hints, tips, or anytbing at all that someone could pass along to me on this, I sure would appreciate it. You know, it sure would be nice to actually FINISH a Black Isle game for a change, instead of it locking up!
