Strange Red Alert 2 Problem

In advance, I am not sure if this topic is right for this board's topic..here goes

Now that I have my computers networked, i would like to play red alert2 with my brother, but stupid me, I lent the allies CD to a friend so now I only have 1. I tried to make a copy so that I don't have to use the CD, it worked...sorta. When i get into the game and begin to play, after about 30 seconds into the match everything self detonates...WEIRD. If anyone has a solution to my problem I'd be very grateful, thanks

yeah man I have exactly the same probleme with my french version of ra2 !!!

if you want to know if your cd is a really good copy of ra2 try to install the game from your cd.. you will see that the setup doesn't like bad backuped cdz !

I also have a weird problem...my CloneCd produced copies of both RA Cds freeze after the first level. They play fine and then the CD reader or writer just keep reading afterwoods. What's up with that, and can i fix it? I have a Ricoh 7080A and used BASF blanks...Any help would be greatly appreciated as the first levels rock, and i want to play some more.

how about this one, my computer restarts after every multiplayer game. If I win or lose the screen goes instantly blank and my computer restarts. Does it with win98se and winME. I think its a motherboard prob but its funny because that is the only game it does that on.

you talk about this exploding units?
I think this happens only when you cd-key is invalid or you have a corrupt registry.
bad CloneCD copy will not run and you get a "can't find cd message!"
