Is it easy to install a PS 2 MOD CHIP?
 

Is it easy to install a PS 2 MOD CHIP with a description of http:\\www.playstationmods.com? Is there a shop where somebody can install it for me? I´m from Frankfurt\Germany!!! Excuse may bad english, because I´m german!

i would not do it myself .....the wires on the main board are easy but the 2 wires that go next to each other on the dvd unit are the tricky ones...
if you know someone who is very good with a soldering iron your ok ......
i took mine to www.playstationmods.com ...where they installed it for me...best thing i ever did...

i just ordered a neo2 chip from playstationmods.com and found out there are 3 different versions of the us PS2, versions 1 and 2 are easy to install the chip on but version 3 is a little harder is has the 2 wires next to the dvd drive so you have to completely take apart the console as compared to removing just the bottom cover for versions 1 and 2. This is how to identify what version your US 30001 is:
Serial Number on rear of machine begins with:

u1 = version 1
u0 = version 2
u2 = version 3
