making a backup of spyro 3

i used cdrwin to create a backup of spyro 3. i applyed the ppf patch with the ppf o matic. when i tried to play the first game i copied the music in the background and the speaking of characters was extremely jarbled up. i used auto for the jitter protection. thinking this was the problem i then enabled it for the next backup i made and it totally removed the music and the audio of the characters speaking. i have not a clue what to do next. someone who has solved this problem please help. i am somewhat of a newbie but i have more research hours than most before these two attempts. thanks

ok, you did better than me with your backup. I got a startup screen that says I did the crack right but then nothing after that. Is that normal?

If you're talking about the PAL patch by BAD, apparently it's...well bad, and doesn't work :(
No one else seems to have taken on the PAL challenge, so it looks like us Euros are going to have to do without :(

Look at http://koolkrakkz.tsx.org/ .
There is a brandnew (non B.A.D.) patch for spyro 3 pal/euro which supposed to work 100%.

By the way, I'm still searching for a spyro 2 ("gateway to glimmer", not "ripto's rage") pal/euro.

The B.A.D. patch that could be found nearly everywhere doesn't match (in fact I guess it's for the ntsc/uk release of the game, which is named "ripto's rage").

I was looking for the NTSC version to backup my game. I've done a ton of backups but I'm having a rough time with Spyro 3. Questions I have;

1. can I put a toggle switch on mod chip?

2. Is there a working crack for the us version?

Do you have a "MODCLIP" or a "Modchip"?

If yo have a "modclip" which is like the gameshark, you can just ad
the bypass codes. E-mail me if you need them

Big Al 09-01-2001 19:28

Duggie, I have a modchip.

I used the B.A.D. ppf on the UK/PAL version of Spyro 3 and it works 100%

As far as I know it was Paradox's first released ppf which had the problems, but thats been fixed now.

soul_courageous 09-01-2001 23:48

Try the NEW 100% Paradox patch! It should work. Get it at www.gamefreax.de.

I have tried all PPF files for Pal version and none have worked

On one of the other post here Spyro 2 "Glimer" the bad patch works.

Gandalf 10-01-2001 17:03

a working patch for spyro 2 , gateway to glimmer ???

@Sunsoar:
That's surprising.... I only found the b.a.d. patch for the so called pal/euro version of spyro 2, which supposed to be called "ripto's rage".
But it just produces coasters for the version where I dumped my image.
In fact, burning the unpatched image to cdr let me play spyro 2 til the second world/level (summer forest), but when I try to leave this level, the game freezes with a black screen. Others reported the same...

When I apply the b.a.d. patch, the cdr isn't recognized by my psone.

Working spyro2 patch

Gandalf I'm trying to find the patch i used and will send link when i have but I have finished my patched spyro 2 version.

On my PC all i can find is the BAD spyro 2 euro patch which was released on the 14-11-99.

Gandalf 10-01-2001 19:50

Yep... the one with 174173 bytes in size.

Btw. you can mail me at [email protected] ;).

Tnx
