How to unpack Assassin's Creed audio files (*.pck)

1 Attachment(s)
Only works for the following PC version of the games:
  • Assassin’s Creed 2
  • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations
  • Assassin’s Creed III
  • Assassin’s Creed Liberation
  • Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag
  • Assassin’s Creed Unity
  • Assassin’s Creed Rogue
  • Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
  • Assassin’s Creed Origins
  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Follow the guide below to unpack the *.pck files

1. Locate the files “sounds_eng.pck” (for English dialogues) or “sounds_sfx.pck” (for sound effects) in your computer or laptop. In my laptop the default is:
This PC > SSD (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Assassin’s Creed II > SoundData > pc

2. Download and extract the Wwise-Unpacker. After that in the Wwise-Unpacker folder, copy only one of the *.pck files into the folder labeled “Game Files”.
If you want both dialogues and sound effect files, you will have to go through the process twice.

3. Select “Unpack to OGG.bat” if you want the audio files in their raw format (Select “Unpack to MP3.bat” if you want the audio files to be in MP3 format.
Note: While a universally accepted format, there will be some loss in quality). I haven’t found any media players that can play Assassin’s Creed OGG files,
so I suggest converting them to another audio format.

4. A command prompt window pop up listing WAV files that are being decoded, which will then automatically convert them to OGG format (then to MP3 if you chose to unpack to that format instead).
This will take a while, so be patient.

5. After that process completed you see in the command prompt, the decoder will offer to delete the *.pck file. Enter “Y” or “N” to Delete the *.pck file and close the command prompt.
Your audio files will be located in either the MP3 or OGG file. If you want to extract another *.pck file, move your audio files to a different folder or else it will be deleted when you run the Unpacker again.

This is NOT limited to AC games, they use standard WWise audio packs so you can apply this to literallty any games using WWise packs with AKPK magic. Please do some proper research!

I did some digging and i never found that this method can be used for other games.
These days i'm trying to repack Assassin's Creed 2 and while looking for a way to compress its audio i found this on the internet.
So i thought i'd share it for others to know and that's why i'm posting it here.
I'm not much of an expert so i didn't know about it until you told me, so thanks for letting me know.
