OK, so, they use lzo but can't be processed with plzo.
I checked earlier in another site & they were telling that these game don't have lzo, That's why I posted the lines. Sorry for the complications. :)

What about creating an index for this thread at the first post?

@78372
Although I always appreciate suggestions etc KaktoR has answered this perfectly, the idea is to make it easier for Mods not harder. Keeping Index's updated regularly can be very time consuming ... trust me I know Ive been updating one for the last 12 years. ;)
We try our best to make the site easy for members as well but it is not always possible to please everyone.

I think putting games and their methods here is a terrible idea because there are so many of them, the wise solution to this is narrowing down the field, game engines for example or picking games as a series. for example, all Assassins Creed games are lzo compressed, use the method plzo+srep+lzma for all, because listing all the AC series just makes the thread difficult to read or the index you're suggesting.
For example I already see GTAIV and Max Payne 3, next we'll probably see GTAV, what we could have said all in all is pzlib+srep+lzma for all games that use the RAGE Engine which is what they use.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockst...ed_Game_Engine
there is the list of games, what people could do is
put an engine with the link on a site like wikipedia that has list of games then put the method that should be used.

I will keep an eye on how the thread goes for a few weeks, after a few weeks we will see what may be able to be changed to make it easier for everyone.
Suggestions or ideas are always welcome but as you know we cant always implement them smoothly and easily. ;)

havent tested them yet but for rise of the tomb raider and hellblade, i`d say pzlib+srep+lzma too. Someone pls correct me if i am wrong with the better compression methods.

Sleeping Dogs as far as I know: pZlib+srep+lzma

and for Fifa 17 dunno, i thought pzstd but as Razor19211 stated it only works for ME:A.

Razor12911 01-10-2017 10:09

FIFA 17 is zstd compressed, just that support of FIFA 17 was not added in pzstd.

KaktoR 01-10-2017 10:34

I wish you could come back and do some magic in additional scanners :)

Hi, I'm new here!

Which the best method to compress Metal Gear Rising Revengeance without replace video files?

Well, actually I don't need a strong compression, if fit into a bluray disc will be good enough!

Thanks!

EDIT: Using BlackBox script I got it, insignificant reduction, but enough to put in bluray disc!

schadow777 04-10-2017 05:53

Yeah, I agree with you, but there are some games which use same engine but same methods couldn't be applied on them.
For Example: Crysis 2 & Crysis 3 use same engine, which is Cry Engine 3 but pZLib can precompress Crysis 2 & for Crysis 3, the files are encrypted. So they must be decrypeted first before using any compression.
I know this is not a good example but it occurs sometimes. :)

any idea how to r-encrypted after decrypeted ?

oltjon 04-12-2017 10:25

I do not think it's possible

doofoo24 04-12-2017 11:10

so using hex editor work but manually...
anyone know CMD line for hex editor to apply change like batch file ?

Morgrel 11-12-2017 05:02

Can u make an index? like the index of games?

kassane 11-12-2017 08:21

What is the best method to compress Divinity Original Sin?
I have already tried to use pzlib and ztool (lz4) and did not have a satisfactory result.

KaktoR 11-12-2017 08:55

I guess game archives are encrypted or already compressed? Don't have the game.

JustFun 11-12-2017 09:38

Index added to the first post, lets see how it will work out.

They are already compressed to LZ4. I extract to use a translation in my native language. I will try to compress with some already extracted (* .pak) files.

This application extracts the pak files

6xDVD5, at least with one language (german).

I think RZ is better, but takes 100 years and i don't know if it will reduce the size significant. Feel free to test :D

Can anybody please explain how to use records.inf to show progress with nz in wpi.
I was able to generate records.inf in source directory for nz64 (nanozip) by changing tmp to source and percentage to 0, 0 bu when i include records.inf in resource directory and change back scr to tmp in script, nanozip is still not showing progress.

ZakirAhmad 17-01-2018 20:15

I guess no one here seem to know about records.inf or else no one want to help.

Compile the script without records (disable "#include records"). Move the generated records.ini to your include directory, enable the "#include "records" and recompile the source. Game without records will show progress above 100%. With recors it will be fixed.

I hope you can understand what i wrote. Sorry for the rusty english

ZakirAhmad 18-01-2018 08:18

please

plese post a script that creates a records.inf and second copy of it that uses that records.inf for nanozip.
