wich i openly say that i did just like i tell when i remove certain things like language files

Compress is not a problem, decompress = crc error / archive data corrupted (don't remember which of them) on mentioned files. All other files works good.

Don't let people stop you. All you shared compress methods is a help for anyone who wanna see the aprox. ratio gained from compression. Keep doing your hobby. I have a list of repacked games that i made, and i know how hard is find the best method of compression. You doing good, dont give up.

Sorry for the crappy english, brazilian here.

Thought in letting you know guys that i haven't forgotten this thread, it just happen that i like to bruteforce games and that takes time especially if they are big. I also tend to focus on old games or a few years back at the most.

i tend to do both i like new games..
but sometimes i get an itching to go back in time sit down and play a game
straight out of childhood....

darkwolves 26-03-2018 22:19

regarding the post with the two recoded videos

http://ww2.fileforums.com/showpost.p...&postcount=387

the answer is the top one it's 122 mb the original is 273 mb

but it looks better than the original...

moral is what is wrong with recoding if i am able to do that?

rambohazard 27-03-2018 04:58

I think that screens above are in .mpg, from Devil May Cry. This format in special can be recoded and the difference from the original will be minimal.
Bik is another case, if you recode at 50% for exemple, the difference can be minimal or worst. I believe if you recode a video and de image still looks good, or you recode thinking that file have amount of birthrate (e.g. A video 1280x720 - 12 MB rate), you can simple recode that file over and over again with different settings. I hope you guys have understand what i saying.
Keep doing the conversions,you're good.

it is wmv format
i actually know how to lower the video size and make it look better than the original even bik...
no stuttering no odd sounds...
sometimes i see videos i think look crappy and i make them better lol

in this instance the video resolution is 856x840

i don't see it to be a shortcut by any means it actually takes time and alot of
knowledge to properly recode... the video to be that small but still have quality about the same or higher in this case the videos were the same ones from the playstation 2 port.. crappy as heck not only did i shrink them i raised the bitrate and color rate and shrunk it to a much lower resolution....
sometimes i have to open the video up and correct particles get rid of blotches etc...

i don't do like certain repack groups do and do it just to shrink it down
if i think the video is fine i won't touch it....lol

Unfortunatelly we have no public tool for this

i have heard that putting something like precompmt at the end of the compression is supposed to have some sort of effect

darkwolves 27-03-2018 16:45

hmmm there are a few games i have were i had to decrypt the files to make them work with zlib
i am debating wether or not to post them

you know what you are right, sorry my bad but for Rivals which I think you compressed from blackbox repack. They did rip videos and mentioned that and I want you to do the same thing. The real size after using plz4+srep+lzma is 6.4gb with only 400 mb difference to srep+lzma 6.8gb.

Webster17 27-03-2018 21:34

Bioshock Remastered
bpk on bink videos
srep+lzma or lolz on rest all files
Game size will be around 5 to 9 gb depending on how much content you rip
Important Note: Don't rip anything else except localization and video files as this game is already buggy and doing anything will make it crash.
