the issue is that Droppo is using an old version of UltraARC ( V1.1 ) which had issues of SOMETIMES missing files, & uses an out-of-date way of splitting files. Its HAS been corrected in UltraARC V2.2.1, & should be using that instead of an old version. Have run multiple tests with the new version & have yet to have it fail, as long as you extract version 2.2.1 into new folder, then use it from there, as files have been updated from previous versions.

Doing a run right now using 2.2.1 on your conversion to see the outcome, will post results as soon as its completed its compressions.

EDIT:
Worked 100% with Version 2.2.1, end up with 2xdvd5s
DVD1 - 4.36GB
DVD2 - 3.60GB

Lol, yeah I use the oldie one, which don't know why but it keeps working like charm to me.
TBH latest 2.2.1 seems to work well, just a couple issues already reported but can be avoided and get bthe program working without problems so far. My new conversions are being made with 2.2.1...

Also one funny thing, did an precomp+srep+arc test on Evolve with 1.1 and got it almost to 5xDVD5 (just a couple of MBs out). Did the same test with 2.2.1 and it's like 2GB bigger and both extract well :(

pakrat2k2 02-03-2015 20:27

precomp to me is just not worth the extra time to save 1 or 2 dvds. who wants to take 3-4 hours to install a game, because the extra time needed to uncompress the files.

as far as issues with 2.2.1, have had no issues. If you start it & notice a mistake or want to change something, simply delete all extra files / folders that were created & run it again, with the corrections you want, simple & no issue.

edtel20 03-03-2015 06:55

one question....the version 2.2.1, where get it?....

JPM 03-03-2015 07:31

Just replace the old 1.1 with the new one? Is it only that?

pakrat2k2 03-03-2015 07:40

easier to just extract the 2.2.1 into a folder, then extract the archive from 1st post into second folder, then move the converted subfolder( conversion file ) into where the 2.2.1 is.

use these settings from 1.1 in your 2.2.1 ini file
Code:

[Options]
VolumePrefixName=DBXN_
CDImage=
BinkIt=
OggEncode=
CrunchTexture=

[Compressor]
Freearc=
7-Zip=
WinRAR=

[Split]
FirstVolumeSize=4405
CustomVolumeSize=4475
ThresholdPercent=100

[Distribution]
ArchivePrefixName=Data
ArchiveExtension=cab

[Freearc]
Method=srep delta lzma
PrecompVer=
PrecompJPG=

2gb bigger? that's worrying me a lot.

what start button? there shouldn't be any start button, just a play button from game installer once it's already installed and a shortcut made by the game installer

yeah, me too... I didn't thought that much about it. First I thoght that the new version did somekind of extra calculation and compressed less if it looks like there wont fill the complete disk.

Razor12911 03-03-2015 09:47

please show me via team viewer, I will send you a private message to tell you when.

Droppo 03-03-2015 11:02

OK, but let me make the copmpression again since I have already deleted the files and kept only one as final.

I mean to the start button in the program UltraARC V2.2.1 to make this conversion, not a start button to start playing...
Anyway with UltraARC 2.2.1 the conversion was a success, the game is installed without errors, but doesn't start (xgcore.dll missing)
I'll try with other method.

First you must make sure your installed game works before converting. the conversion only packs the files and has nothing to do with game functionality,

In my case game worked before conversion, but when I installed after conversion it says that some .dll file missing (I deleted game so I don't remember which file exactly). I don't have AV program so it couldn't be because of that, so probably you missed some file in conversion

EDIT: File is xgcore.dll

It's the first thing I checked. The game works perfectly before converting.

Droppo 04-03-2015 09:38

since the filelist is handled by ultraarc you should report to Razor12911 on ultraarc thread

Same problem. What can I do?

pakrat2k2 12-03-2015 10:29

wide screen resolution fix
Code:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/323470/discussions/0/617329150699666538/
but to prevent further issues, use NEWEST version of UltraARC to prevent
compression missing that file.

I f by newtest you mean 2.3, I have to say it still skips files, no matter what kind of compression you use, i've tried with arc, rar and 7xip so far and all of them are skipping files right now... that's why i'm not making conversions for games that i know they are more than 1 Disk... I don't have time to play around trying to make them fit right now

I used the NEWEST UltraARC v2.3.0.0 rev 05/03/2015 and have the problem with the xgcore.dll

pakrat2k2 13-03-2015 08:57

^^try newest 2400 see if it resolves that missing xgcore.dll file

you've asked this how many times now, NO. IF you want to do it old style then use old versions of ciu1014, NOT the NEW modified version. It no longer uses data.lst's and if you want to make it 2xdvd5 then use old version.

Yup, seems like it doesn't care what version you use of ultraarc it will always skip some files

Razor12911 15-03-2015 15:01

will check it out, sorry for the inconvenience caused.
guys, Since I don't the game I think I must first make a diganosing tool for the problem and the ones in the future. but for now can you please tell me the directory within the game for the file that was skipped by the program.

xgcore.dll is right on the root of game folder which usually is Dragonball Xenoverse

in my case I don't have a problem with THAT file, but I do have problems with redist folder on the same game, it skips vc installers.

I did had this same problem on some other games, but on those other games I solved it just moving uninstaller files and then compress without problems.

On dragonball xenoverse no matter what i bdo I always get redists skipped

Razor12911 15-03-2015 15:39

ok, I will see what to do with this problem, just wait for a tool I will be creating, it will take just 30 minutes to make. but will create it after a few hours, it's late here in my country.

pakrat2k2 15-03-2015 15:40

its also misasing from _CommonRedist\Directx\jun2010\

Anything starting with letter A thru to I is missing.
The vcredists are all there fine. ( 3 files )

Razor12911 16-03-2015 11:15

Droppo, Pakrat2k2 or anyone who has the game, use this program:
http://fileforums.com/showthread.php...943#post438943
and post the dss file produced, I will use the dss to fix the bug.
