Hint: I've not tested this, but if it works you can go with 3xDVD9.

Not from me, sorry. It does not worth it for 10+ DVD5. But you can repack the cab files for yourself and create a Setup.ini next to Setup.exe with [ExtractSettings]. See here.

PS: For everyone who encounter lags/stuttering ingame, see here or here. For me it solved the problem. I think Square Enix bring out a patch, hopefully (also for 720p lock i hope)

Not that different in he end :-(
only thing different is DVD1 having 6.47 size (sys 1.73gb and zone 4.74)

@Kaktor: What is your conversion uses from in _CommonRedist folder ??? Want to change dx for webdxsetup and delete some others to save space , but not sure which ones are used by your conversion

thx tried to fill up the first DVD by transforming these 2 files (white_data\movie\z027_us.win32.wmp+white_data\mov ie\z021_us.win32.wmp) to sys.cab
but got this problem

Have you enough free disk space and also ram free? And why add two movie files to the archive? the movie files are not compressable.

well i just wanted to have all DVD9 fully used and not only 6.5GB ;-) - which would mean that DVD4 would fit to 4.7gb DVD
BTW: 6.7GB free ram ,120 free disk space and 15gb free disk space on systm disk

KaktoR 17-10-2014 04:20

Ahh, okay. Then create a additional cab file with the two movie files inside on DVD1 next to sys.cab and zone.cab. You can create a Setup.ini with [ExtractSettings] next to Setup.exe for individual amount of cab files.

For example:
Code:

[ExtractSettings]
FreeArcFile1=sys.cab;DestDir:{app};Disk:1;
FreeArcFile2=zone.cab;DestDir:{app};Disk:1;
FreeArcFile3=movie.cab;DestDir:{app};Disk1; <-- new cab file with the two movie files inside
FreeArcFile4=movie1_us.cab;DestDir:{app};Disk:2;
FreeArcFile5=movie2_us.cab;DestDir:{app};Disk:3;
FreeArcFile6=movie3_us.cab;DestDir:{app};Disk:4;
FreeArcFile7=Data.cab;DestDir:{app};Disk:4;

no one have an answer for my problem ???

KaktoR 18-10-2014 13:14

Well, i don't know what's the problem. I have tested compression on 3 different systems (one of them a 5 years old laptop) and i did not get this error. Try the conversion from an other folder and/or HDD/partition.

I've had that a few times, & went & cleaned out temp folder, worked fine after that ?? Don't know what was there but had plenty of room on OS drive as well as the drive was creating conversion on.

Also on another PC have never been able to run the compress.bat on, as it gives exact same error message as you have, although its lower end pc it still has enough ram & HD space that SHOULDNT prevent it from completing that task but it always fails. I just gave up ever trying to do any work on that PC.

Well, try this. Replace with old files and start conversion again.

KaktoR 19-10-2014 21:38

Conversion updated.

You don't need anything to remove from game folder (movie) from now, this step is obsolete.

I have removed a font file that was not used by this conversion (around 22mb), changed the render from Hope (finally i found the right one lol), changed small button graphic (now it have effects! woohoo!) and last but not least i added more render files (Vanille, Sazh, Fang. I can't find a good one from Snow, sorry!).

Just replace with old Setup... if you want.

n4f13666 20-10-2014 11:37

With the new UPDATE all work like a charm thank you GOOD JOB,
i have just to test the installation now
Thanks,

n4f13666 20-10-2014 12:18

ALL works perfect THANKS
GOOD JOB

Nope. Open the following .lst files with notepad and delete the _us from lines if you want japanese movies instead of english ones.

Data4.lst
Data5.lst
Data6.lst
Data7.lst
Data8.lst
Data10.lst

For example Data4.lst:
Code:

white_data\movie\z002_us.win32.wmp
white_data\movie\z006_us.win32.wmp

to
Code:

white_data\movie\z002.win32.wmp
white_data\movie\z006.win32.wmp

@pakrat: The attachment JAP_movies.rar in first post is only for DVD9 file list.

December Update for FFXIII

http://steamcommunity.com/games/2921...01353223653928

Finaly SE will inplement 1080p support and graphic options. Wait for it before burn on DVD (a seriously intentioned advice).

Simply use the Setup.exe from DVD9 conversion and copy it to first folder of DVD5 conversion next to Setup.ini.

Droppo 14-12-2014 17:06

Converted with the DVD5 version... works JUST PERFECT with update 3. Thank you!

prudislav 15-12-2014 11:01

well kinda confused on this conversion :-/ on 2 out of 5 coputers i teste it on installation gives unarc.dll ISDone error - 6 ,during first DVD , on the rest it works fine :-/ Not really sure what can cause this

KaktoR 15-12-2014 11:52

Well, i don't know much about those tricky things. Sorry :(

prudislav 15-12-2014 12:07

yeah i dont aswell , tried to do it with burned iso on DVD and seems like around that point of fail , the DVD just stops and iso removes itself from DT , but when i copy that iso on HDD installation works fine - its like DVD-drive cant hande such a compression and just stops reading

KaktoR 27-02-2015 07:50

Hey guys

I've made some changes for Setup. Not that important.

-Updated Setup to latest ciu script
-Added a few more background pictures i've snapshoted from ingame directly (during installation)
-Changed music a bit :D
-Changed button font

Download attachment "setup-patch-101a-ffxiii-xdelta.rar" from first post, extract it to the same folder where Setup.exe is, then run Patcher.bat.

As i said, this is not important. There are still no errors in Setup. These changes are just cosmetic.

KaktoR 08-04-2021 07:13

Conversion updated.

- Tested
