X-COM: Enemy Unknown (2xDVD9 to 3xDVD5) *INNO SETUP*

1 Attachment(s)
X-COM: Enemy Unknown

Script: yener90 / Graphic Arts: REVOLUTION

*Setup supports these languages: English, German, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, French, Russian, Polish, Portuguese

History

V1.00 - First Release.

Install the game.

1. Go to game's installed folder and move:

AMD Dual Core Optimizer, VCRedist, Directx folders to Redist folder in DVD3. (Which is in conversion)

2. Download the attachment below. Open installerscript.iss with Unicode version of INNO and change the following line according to your game's installed location:

Code:

#define ProgramFiles "E:\Program Files (x86)\2K Games\XCOM Enemy Unkown"
Save it and compile.

3. After compile, move:

-Setup.cab, Setup.exe, Setup.ini, Autorun.exe, Setup.ico to DVD1 folder;

-All Setup-1*.bin files to DVD1
-All Setup-2*.bin files to DVD2
-All Setup-3*.bin files to DVD3

5. Burn content to DVDs, and enjoy installer music pack during install.

I'm assuming it'll fit to 3DVD5s with lzma setting. If not try lzma/ultra64 and tell us the results.

I'm trying highest compression, if not will open another thread, since movies will be lower quality.

MartinezPL 11-10-2012 02:44

Removing biks its good idea the can stop running with black screen and crashes to windows
Better way is downgrade biks 720p 50-60% and you can fit on 1xDVD5 (1 audio lang) ;)

mikey26 11-10-2012 03:29

Hi MartinezPL the bik i suggested that be removed is just 1080 biks that are included in the game if the game does not find the 1080 biks it uses the lower quality biks that are also included in the game so no need to recode. :-)

Removing 1080p is working well. If someone want to burn 2DVDs, here's the solution:

pakrat2k2 24-10-2012 20:06

will see if it still fits to 3xdvd5 after new update ~3.4GB

himanshu23 29-10-2012 17:13

thanks working perfectly on windows 64 bit

i have compiled game after applying update 1 , will it include update 1 content also??

pakrat2k2 29-10-2012 17:26

the conversion uses installed game files, so if you updated it then the converson will include that update :)

bazzietuk 07-02-2013 02:09

Has anyone tried it with the latest patch and Slingshot DLC? Does the conversion work when they're both installed?

REV0 07-02-2013 03:03

If it doesnt have any additional regkeys, it'll work

bazzietuk 09-02-2013 13:01

It doesn't install any new reg keys that I know but it seems to add more folders to the "installation folder\xcomgame\dlc" folder upon installation. Lots of folders and files under that folder heading. I'm not sure if the inno setup routine copies the contents of the folders or specificly listed files that's why I asked. Anyone else tried this with the DLC packs installed?

pakrat2k2 09-02-2013 14:59

see where it says

Code:

#define ProgramFiles "E:\Program Files (x86)\2K Games\XCOM Enemy Unkown"
that doesnt speciy anything other then MAIN gamefolder so inno will compress whatever subfolders are beneath that inputted game folder. It WILL be all compressed regardless if there's 1 subfolder or 100 subfolders. The only thing that should NOT be there is the original uninstall files, just move them out before compressing.

bazzietuk 10-02-2013 12:58

Already did the conversion on the game with update one, was just wondering and I'm sure others were as well how it worked and whether it added the dlc into the package while keeping the contents on 3 DVD's.

But thanks for answering the question so concisely :)

pakrat2k2 10-02-2013 16:10

adding update 1 + DLC to conversion with ALL files worked perfectly. Compression left on lzma.

Win7X64

DVD1-4.31GB
DVD2-4.28GB
DVD3-3.13GB

I have a problem with the "eula" section. I compiled InstallerScript and LangScript using my eula.txt file but there is no update in the setup. It's still yours. Can you tell me how can i fix this?

//thx m8. problem fixed.

pakrat2k2 16-02-2013 10:54

[Languages]
Name: eng; MessagesFile: Languages\English.isl; LicenseFile: eula\eula_eng.rtf

make sure the eula is either in the folder specified & name properly for each language OR just name it eula.txt & add the LicenseFile: eula.txt for each language ingame.

Fabio didn't tell you the whole story. I explained to him where was the mistake and after that i fixed it. I gave the credits for his work.
Don't worry about the eula file. I will not mention my name/take your credits or something like that. I just want to add system requirements for the game.

// The system check function is working on me.
///btw what's wrong if your work is admired by a lot of people? after all, your conversions are not 100% based on original games. You also are downloading from trackers.

I hope that you will continue to giving credits, a little crediting and thanks is nothing considering amount of time we're spending on setups.

I thought this conversion had system check function ?

I can download the games from trackers or i can simply buy them. Conversions have nothing to do with this fact. I'm talking about thanking to correct people.

If i'm spending a week on a work, which is free, i earn to be appreciated by the people. If someone else come and try to delete my name so he can 'own' the conversion without paying a penny to me, then there's something wrong.

I told this couple of times, making conversions are not the only thing i do in my professional life, so i have sensibility about crediting.

If you're gonna pay money for my conversions you can do anything you want with them, after all it's my service and i'm getting paid for the project i did.

You're not paying to me nor to Fabio nor to senseman for conversions, plus you're taking conversions trying to delete our names from them, so you'll become 'the king of the hill' in your place. And yet you're still trying to legalize it.

I dont simply give a shit about these things but yet, it hurts me. That's why i stopped making conversions, that's why Fabio stopped making conversions, that's why senseman stopped making conversions.

If you're not adult enough to learn that you shouldn't steal someone else's work, then you're gonna live with it.

I dont agree with this. If I create something and put my name on it, even if someone pays me for it, I still would not want my name to be removed and someone else's name put there in place of my name.

Just imagine the shit storm if Kenwood bought a car stereo from Sony, removed the Sony logo and replaced it with a Kenwood Logo!!!!
Names are part of the product, its an advertising feature and should always be left alone.

Conversion creators spend considerable time designing and creating a special look and feel to their installers, regardless of where those conversions end up their names and their work in general should never be altered without prior permission from the creator. That is how the creators earn their reward and advertising. The creators at least deserve that kind of respect when they are giving away their work for free.

Brazilica 17-02-2013 04:16

I explained to fabio where was the problem about his name on the conversion and i edited later. It's not my problem if he didn't understand that and his or your ego is still hurt.
And don't worry, conversions didn't started with you or with fabio and certainly will not finish with you two. So if you still wanna make conversions fine, if not, there is also fine.

As i said, i don't know what bullshits told you fabio but he was crealrly pissed of when he saw his conversion on that tracker. Now you're saying that you're ok with that, and the problem was about "giving credits", which i did(i gave you/him credits for conversion). You want to build a statue for you two or what?

If you have anything to say to me send me a PM. Let's not make this thread our problem...or yours.

Have a wonderfull life!

REV0 17-02-2013 05:04

ROFL, is that so hard to write, 'Thanks to X person for graphics and conversion method' ?

If i have ego like you said, i wouldnt open tutorial threads or help people as much as i can. Actually, it's the contrary, you're the one who has 'ego' in here. You dont want to credit people for their work, and yet writing tons of things to justify it.

Nope, wasn't started with us, it was Grumpy who made the first game conversion if the memory serves me right, maybe you may start saying that you're the first one converted a game in 1901 !:eek:

Ah BTW, i'm sure most of the members will agree with you :rolleyes:

I only see Dead Space 3 which was credited to peter, which is right, apart from this there's none.

If you're saying that you're crediting people, why are you still writing about it ?

'I'm crediting you guys' would be enough instead of writing;

'You want a statue or what ?'

'Your conversions are not 100% yours, you're downloading from trackers blabla'

This is going to be a general comment. I'm not saying Brazilica is not talented because I haven't yet seen enough of him to decide.

No, it's the contrary. :) Talented people have a real ego because they know (knowing = talent) their own talent that they can be proud of. Not talented people have a "quasi ego" which is, actually, just brawling around because of the deep frustration of not being on the level of talented people. They try to show off whatever they think they can be proud of - cars, women, buildings, lots of money, "power": fake replacements for talent and success - but, when a talented person sees them, it comes out just the opposite: they're making pathetic fools out of themselves.

It's just society that still hasn't come to its senses which would be putting idiots to where they beling: to the bottom of the food chain. (It's interesting that, in Hungarian, policemen are called "order-guards" so society does know what order would mean, "only" the long existing rules are not enforced well enough.)

REV0, I suggest you to stop making such comments. I've been there, done that, and they neither relieve the frustration nor keep idiots away. Trying to reason with idiots just doesn't work, and I'm talking from experience. However, pointing out their own idiocy - internal inconsequences in their own argumentation - is fun... at least, for a while until you realize that you can spend your time much better than that.

See the setup.ini of all the conversions. I didn't put my name on them. The only time when i did this it was a mistake and i edited as i explained to fabio. Besides the setup pictures contain your mark on them: "graphic art by fabio/revo". On the future conversions i will also write "Thanks to X person for graphics and conversion method" as i did on the last two of them so everyone to be happy :)

@Joe

You're telling this to Revo because someone tried to reason with you and didn't succeeded, that's how you're experienced?

Grumpy 17-02-2013 16:58

@Brazilica

Simple fix to the problem is to STOP posting everyone's work on WAREZ SITES!!

Fileforums does not support Warez Users yet you yourself come here only to support warez users on Wares Sites.

I could simply ban you from these forums but as you can probably tell by the recurring accounts of Valeron/Stacked Deck/Razor19211 you too will just come back under a different name. :(

People these days just have no respect for anyone other than themselves. :mad:

jackstuff 17-02-2013 20:48

Simply saying if u r using someones conversion than u should give them a credit for their work if not than no need to download their conversion.

Don't worry i will not come back. In the future i will work only with my conversions so the "credits problem" will dissapear.

rev0 like bioshock, this game had a new dlcs released.
it called XCOM: Enemy Within
http://store.steampowered.com/app/225340/

are you going to update your conversion for support this dlc in future?

This conversion used Inno Setup + it's compression system so it doesnt need any updates. I dont know if you have additional regkeys though, if that's the case write them down so i'll update the conversion in first page.

Apart from this, conversion compress everything in the folder of the game, so no modification is required.

ceifadorx 15-11-2013 13:03

ok going try later to see if the conversion woks.
i let to know if got any problem
