1) Extract 'Syndicate_1xDVD5.7z.001...Syndicate_1xDVD5.7z.004' contents

2) Move/Copy from game's installation folder 'Videos' to Syndicate_DVD5\Disk\Videos' folder:

3) Launch Compress.bat & wait...

4) Burn or mount iso in 'Syndicate_DVD5' folder

if you look at the compress.bat file it doesnt even touch that folder.

ok i did like you say but the final iso size is 4.807 it wouldn't fit on dvd5

I have an overload of 175MB in my final iso so what is the final size of your iso? (I also deleted all languages except italian)

but deleting these videos means that there will be no intro for the game right?
and there is no way around that right ?

you dont delete the videos he has highlighted in the screenshot, those have been recoded ( from originals, as those 4 are much smaller then the originals ). When you copied the Videos folder from game folder into the Syndicate_DVD5 folder you needed to say no to overwrite when copying. Also go into the video folder & delete the WMV files(4) as they are useless.

that's what i say i deleted 4 WMV files not the 4 that have been highlighted in the screenshot
what i'm asking about is those 4 WMV contains the intro and another things which means that when deleted the game will have no intro
right?

no those 4 wmv files DONT show the intro, just the intro.ogg, logo.ogg are played during startup of game.
they dont play at all, as far as i remember, renamed them to see if it caused issue at start of game, but the intros still played fine.

the first line when you run the batch file asks where your installed game is... enter that properly & it works fine.

ok it's working now fine but when the setup start there is no video playback only audio i can hear
why is that?
i'm on sp3 and i can play the ogg files in video folder without sound -i guess it's normal to not have sound-
any ideas?

Now it's all ok with W7x64, final iso: 4,15GB

...and holy crap, awesome conversion and amazing setup! :cool:

ps: i didn't know we could use srep/precomp expressing it directly from the command line as parameters for arc! :p

both srep & precomp are newest versions which have some additional commands, that werent there in previous versions, that alow for even more compression capabilities.

Peterf' Nice job incorporating the video into the installer. I too had issues with final DVD5 being too large, so I just use the recoded OGG
from another post, ( reduced the OGG from ~600MB down to 254MB then had enough room. )

i like the video playing while installing i forgot i had the sound pretty high

same uninstall error as leo95, Runtime error, cannot import FirewallInstallHelper.dll

Cleared any reg entries, removed from startmenu, started over again (2nd time) completes with 0 errors ) and yet again same uninstall error

but i have the last k-lite codec pack installed

the big black screen during install of syndicate, its just an avi file encoded into setup.
so if you can play avi files without issue then it should have shown up during install.

I never got this error , the code of firewall exception is the same as others conversions, however shows the contents of your Data4.bin

As i expected the presence of Firewallinstallhelper library in the archive causes the error.
Re-create the Data4.bin or delete from it the useless files.

using freearc 067 gives error message when trying to remove those useless files from archive. Unsupported switches ? bah! will just recreate that last bin

but why do those useless files even get copied into the game dir,from your installer, can you not set them to dontcopy ?

You must use freearc in filter mode from command line (but first removes the useless files):

From Syndicate_DVD5 folder type:

Those files are useless when are located in the archive, the installer extracts the files (embedded) when needed.

thanks was the precomp switch (-mprecomp:t-nfj) that gave error when trying to reopen the archive after it was created .

Activation.exe file in archive Data4.bin is corrupted, re-create the archive :(

great job but the final iso size is 4.730 it wouldn't fit on dvd5 (23mb overload) :(

Yes, you're right, don't know why but Data4.bin was corrupted. :confused:
My Data4.bin now is ~267MB with only italian language so i had to resampling other two .ogg files (because a little overload).

Final iso: 4,36GB with 7MB free! :D

(and this time is really all ok, uninstaller too!)

dani ell, dont type in subfolder of game ONLY gamefolder itself

you typed in c:\Program Files(x86)\ea games\Syndicate\Content for your game folder..

it should ONLY be c:\Program Files(x86)\ea games\Syndicate thats all the batch will do the rest.
