balola 07-12-2011 12:50

here i can find the -mx -ld200m on freearc ?

rastan76 07-12-2011 13:02

Peterf, why in step2 you don't consider DirectX , dotnetfx, and AMD_DCOptSetup.exe? In the original disk the installer ask for these files ....

anyway, with your method can I make 1 dvd9 + 1 dvd5 simply moving data1...data5 to dvd#1 (DL) and data6...data7 to dvd#2 (dvd5)?

Thanks , and ... great work as always!

this question interess me too.

KillerOh 08-12-2011 08:00

@ rastan76 and The-revenge: Probably yes, but **MAYBE** the installer itself is coded in such a way that it'll ask for Disk THREE (and not disk TWO as "normally expected") during install.

If the conversion was done with Yener's scripts, that could be easily "fixed" - I even figured it out without even read Yener's codes LOL - but for Peterf's scripts, I don't know how to do that, so ask for a "modified installer".

dudul 08-12-2011 21:58

What did u expect? off course less than 4.7Gb (DVD 5) :D

Disk 1 = 4.5GB
Disk 2 = 4.2Gb
Disk 3 = 4.5Gb

Just try the conversion u will find precisely size there.

sanad i 11-12-2011 06:01

thanks peterf1999 work in windows 7 32Bit

Felipe03 16-12-2011 05:39

Please screenshot of the files containing the file Data7.bin?

my game folder contains pack DLC

Ty

pakrat2k2 16-12-2011 18:25

well data2.bin has:

'1_02.usm'
'3_07.usm'
'4_10_Pt1.usm'
'5_12.usm'

data5.bin has :

'7_15.usm'
'8_17.usm'
'8_16.usm'

so thats 7 files from the 'BmGame\MoviesStereo' folder that ARE NOT in the data7.bin. Make the data7.bin file WITHOUT those 7 files & see how big a result you get.

Felipe03 26-12-2011 15:37

Thank you,

Except that I'm in trouble when I put the game in windowed mode ...

not sure that that's related to the conversion.

Also, Peter must have lots of free time to make these!

You get what you compress, and so... what is the answer?;)

I know that I'll get what I compress, but aren't there any Registry entries for 1.01 version?

You can trace changes in the registry during the execution (or installation) of applications with RegFromApp.

Kamyk95 12-03-2012 11:05

Works with 1.01 update. Tested on Windows 7 x64.

benorun974 25-03-2012 01:44

Hello.
Is it possible to more compress data5 and data7 with -mx -ld800m compression in order to make a lower iso?

Edit : I have a problem. I can't uninstall the game.I delete the folder but i can't install the game anymore : the setup and autorun don't match. What is the problem?

Edit 2 : ok, I've made a bad uninstall (need to uninstall in regedit), works fine now...thanks

20 years ago, the compression of 50 kbytes took a whole night. (C64, 1 Mhz CPU, 64 Kbyte RAM, Cruel Cruncher - LZ compression.)

6-8 hours approx for conversion, if it's using max. compress possible,

I'd say 1 hour or more installing the game itself.
