Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

Special Thanks to BAMsE in FF.

Pre-process:

1. Create 4 folders, name them MW3_1, MW3_2, MW3_3 and MW3_4

2. Extract attachment's content to MW3_1

Download it here:

Attachment 2893

Diving to DVDs:

1. Install the game, apply any update if required, and/or no-cd applications. etc.

2. Go to your Installed Game Folder, move Redist folder to MW3_1

3. Open FreeArc, go to your installed game's folder and compress:

Code:

miles (directory --> it will be only directory you'll compress for this part)

and every other files

by these settings. Name it data1.cab:

4. Use FreeArc and compress these files and folders in 'main' folder:

save - directory

video - directory

iw_00.iwd

iw_01.iwd

iw_02.iwd

iw_03.iwd

iw_04.iwd

iw_05.iwd

iw_06.iwd

iw_07.iwd

iw_08.iwd

Name archive as: data2.cab

5. Use FreeArc and compress these files in 'main' folder:

Code:

All iwd files between:

iw_09.iwd --> iw_22.iwd (09 and 22 are included)

Name archive as: data3.cab

6. Use FreeArc and compress these files in 'main' folder:

Code:

iw_23.iwd

localized_english_iw00.iwd

localized_english_iw01.iwd

localized_english_iw02.iwd

localized_english_iw03.iwd

localized_english_iw04.iwd

Name archive as: data4.cab

7. Use FreeArc and compress these files in zone/english folder:

All files between:

Code:

berlin.ff --> ny_manhattan.ff (both files are included)

it must be 54 file in total

Name archive as: data5.cab

8. Use freearc and compress these files in zone/english folder:

All files between:

Code:

paris-a.ff --> warlord.ff (both files are included)

it must be 69 files in total

Name archive as: data6.cab

9.
Move data1.cab, data2.cab to MW3_1
Move data3.cab to MW3_2
Move data4.cab, data5.cab to MW3_3
Move data6.cab to MW3_4

Copy autorun.inf and icon.ico files to MW3_2, MW3_3, MW3_4 folder.

10. Open autorun.inf files in MW3_2, 3 and 4, edit like below:

Burn them to DVDs with same folder contents.

It has uninstaller yes, i tried it already (too many times today lol)

i did all the cabs file like it was mentioned above but i am curious where must the exe for game be repacked or did i miss something out.but the conversion looks great :-) much appreciated.

my opologies i missed reading step one :miles (directory --> it will be only directory you'll compress for this part)
and every other files (EVERY OTHER FILES WAS MY MISTAKE)

it's inside of data1.cab, so when setup is completed you should see it in your game directory

Small info about players2 folder:

If you have this folder in you game installation, you keep it, you can compress within data1.cab or you can delete it. Without it your MW3 will be good as new, it's folder which contains save date of your play.

I have a problem. I do not understand which files to compress in Data1.cab.

I compress:
Miles (folder) and all other files:
binkw32.dll
installscript.vdf
iw5mp_server.exe
iw5sp.exe
language.txt
localization.txt
logo.bmp
mss32.dll
splash
steam_api.dll
SteamAPIUpdater.dll
steamclient.dll
tier0_s.dll
UpdateDLLWrapper.dll
vstdlib_s.dll

But my final file, Data1.cab = 16.2MB and not 23.4MB.
The others are Data.cabs with the same size as yours.
Install and uninstall work perfectly, but the game does not run. Please, what should I compress files in Data1.cab? Thanks.

just take a look at the files in the first post, if they are the same it shouldnt matter what language of the game it is.

but if you use converter, destination path of every FreeArcFile must be:
DestDir:{app}
converter includes the folders names of the files.
look at the pic(shows the files inside data2.cab):

maybe will work, but Spanish files comes out from English files...

re-name your spanish folder to english, then convert them, after installation you can re-name it to spanish again.

Otherwise, you can wait someone else to write down more than 120 files once again for ya

MP files can be deleted, but the most important part of MW3 will also be deleted, the multiplayer :confused:

PS:

Does anyone who do we show download count of Attachments ?

<DVD not found. Click "Select" to select correct DVD

I know this seems like a stupid question, but how do i get the background music to play. It shows it's on by the button, but nothing plays and i dont even see the programming for the music in any of the config files.

Also in my add and remove programs it is showing up as "Cities XL 2012" and not as "Call Of Duty - Modern Warfare 3" or whatever it's supposed to be.

Well finished testing my custom thing for spanish version of the game and found a couple of errors, that seems to come from base version, maybe i'm wrong, but why not check it just in case...
Some files are missing from lang folder (english or spanish) that part I just changed paths and kept the filenames...
the files are:
mp_bootleg_load.ff
patch_prague_escape.ff
payback.ff
so_timetrial_london.ff
sp_payback.ff

I added to my custom edit now and generating all again, checking also the citiesxl thing now and also checking the reason of why "label" field is not showing up on each image file, atleast on my end and going to remove the music button since I don't like it and it's not working
