Mass Effect 2 2xDVD9 -> 2xDVD5 Conversion One language

In recompressor.exe you have the possibility to select your language
-> other languages will be deleted

You need at least 20 GB free space.

1. Create a temp folder with the name "DVD1" (the name is really important, leave it like that) and copy the contents of the second DVD to this folder

2. Now move the contents of the first DVD to the "DVD1" folder too and overwrite

3. Download the Attachment and extract it to "DVD1" folder too and overwrite

4. Start recompressor.exe and wait (could take one hour)

-> if you get a problem, while recompressor.exe is in action, for example 36% freezing or the size of the second disc is 1-2 GB then follow this tutorial:

5. After recompressor.exe is finished, delete recompressor.exe and burn the temp folder DVD1 and created folder DVD2 with any label

END SIZE:

DVD1: 3,84 GB
DVD2: 4,22 GB

FINISHED!!!:D:D:D

when I choose the language,in my case English it shows me :the system cannot find the path specified. What could be the problem?

whats a good program to make udf or burn them. poweriso doesn't make them i dont think

poweriso can make UDF DVD Images.
you can also use imgburn or nero.

what exactly is UDF. i was thinking uif for some reason. is udf the same as iso?

UDF is a CD/DVD file system, ISO is a CD/DVD image format.

yener90, it looks all well and all, but if im correct u said or wrote, that theres a possibility to select a language in the recompressor, but how come i didnt have the time to even see what to select, i launch the recompressor and it just begins to do what it was intended to do, so pls can u explain ? thx

ok, sorry, i already know, i just didnt wait until it finished ;) u choose language in the end of the process of recompressing, it worked, well, and someway i think what language u choose thats how big ur folders will be because my are like this DVD1 - 3.86gb and DVD2 - 3.92gb, thank u yener90

Hi, yener90I followed every step you mention in your tutorial, I choose the Spanish language,
I make the ISO with PowerISO. When I run the autorun from the menu displayed above the flags
to select the language and language no matter what I choose it always installed in Italian.
Also try to install it anyway, but to my surprise after he completes the installation of DVD1
asks me to put the DVD2 but this does not take it and I can not finish the installation.

Any solution?

i saw the error i fixed it.

only you should do following:
download the attachment in the first page.
extract data\installmanifest_es.ini to DVD1\data\installmanifest_es.ini and DVD2\data\installmanifest_es.ini
delete DVD1\data\installmanifest_it.ini
now it should work fine.
all others dont need to do that, i fixed it now.
this error did only appear on spanish conversion.
on all other languages there is no problem.

i have make the conversation with the german language,

the DVD1 is 3,84 GB

but

DVD2 4,07 GB?????????????


i have only start the recompress.exe and press 3 for german

your pc does compress it better then my one.
my pc:
first conversion size was 4.33
second (last) size is 4.22

try to install it, play the game and if you get any error, then we can try to find a solution.

Does not work in Spanish, the autorun is in Spanish but the setup in Italian, gives an error and not let me install. please help. thanks

1. download the new attachment and try conversion again OR
2. read page 2-> there is a fix for this error

During the instalation he dosen't recognize the disc 2, i've been burned directly with poweriso, where is the problem?

I'm testing right now my version... I used recompressor from yener90 and changed only the file installmanifest_pl.ini basing on the installmanifest_en.ini
... I'll give the file if this method works on PL if it will work I'm sure it will be ok in CZ and HU Version:D

Ok, works fine in PL:D if someone want's this game on his language just use the recompressor from this topic and edit the file installmanifest_pl.ini or other language file and base the changes on the file installmanifest_en.ini from the recompressor package. Eventually use the recompressor from yener90 and use the instllation language package from me... just copy the installmanifest_xx.ini file you want to both DVD1 and DVD2 and make an ISO using UltraISO or burn right to the DVD's using Nero Burning ROM with any label:D

i wanted to include MULTI 3 conversion too.
ecik-CZ already asked me and i told him, what files i need.
now im wating.

the extractor will 100%ly work during the setup.
but you only need to modify installmanifest_xx.ini correctly.
then it should work fine for your conversion too.

MASS EFFECT 2 (2xDVD9 to 2xDVD5)

Install sequence: DVD1-DVD2

1) Make temp folders:

MassEffect2
ME2_Disc2

2) Copy all files/folders from 1st DVD9 to 'MassEffect2' folder except:
3) Copy from 2nd DVD9 to 'ME2_Disc2' folder the following files/folder:
all contents of 'data' folder except:

4) Extract dialog.rar & re-compress its contents with freearc:

Output archive: dialog.arc
Compression: Maximum (192mb decompression)

5) Move 'dialog.arc' file to 'ME2_Disc2\software'

6) Rename 'ME2_Disc2\software\PhysX_9.09.0814_SystemSoftware .exe' to 'PhysX_Inst.exe'

7) Open 'MASS_EFFECT_2_2xDVD5_your_language.7z' & extract:
8) Burn or make ISOs with same labels name of temp folders

i have make the conversation with the polish language
DVD2 have 4.15GB but DVD1 have 5.57
I'm testing version of Schabik, what I do wrong? (sorry for my english)

You must use the recompressor that is in the beginning of this topic (not from peterf1999 because I haven't based on his conversion) and delete the english language, in my version I have deleted other languages except hungarian czech and polish(you must choose english in the recompressor and if I remember the recompressor wil delete non english files that are mentioned during the recompression... But I moved polish.rar to any of the folders on the Hard Drive before the recompressor asked me to choose language) after the recompression I've copied my installmanifest_pl.ini file to DVD1 and DVD2, deleted the english.rar file from DVD2 and moved the polish.rar file to DVD2 from the folder I moved this file before. Then I've made ISO files using UltraISO and mounted them in Daemon-tools lite. Sorry I haven't mentioned it before but i have and exam and it was late..

My DVD's have

DVD2: 3,85 GB DVD1: 3,89GB

I.Do the conversion like yener90 says:

Edit by Schabik: For Cz,Hu,pl Languages when the recompressor asks to choose language, Move your language file to the main Temp folder of the conversion (where you have DVD1 folder) on the hard drive and choose english.

5. After recompressor.exe is finished, delete recompressor.exe

II.And here begins my part of the instructions:

6. Copy your installmanifest_xx.ini(from the package I've added before or the package with the recompressor from yener90 I've added in this post) file to DVD1 and DVD2(overwrite the file if asked).

7. Copy/Move your language file (polish.rar, hungarian.rar, czech.rar) from the main Temp folder of the conversion (the folder where you have DVD1 and DVD2 folders) to DVD2 and delete the english.rar file(I'm not sure but deleting english.rar file from DVD2 is only nessesary for polish language because polish.rar has 1,5GB, czech.rar and hungarian.rar both have 15,5mb, english.rar has 1,3GB so you do the math:D).

8. Make an ISO using UltraISO or PowerISO, either burn using UDF profile in Nero Burning ROM or Nero Express.

9. Mount in daemon-tools the DVD1 or insert DVD1 disc that you've burned using Nero in your optical drive(Or DVD/CD burner) and Install.

10. Play and have fun:D
