FIFA 09 - DVD9 MULTI 5 to DVD5 MULTI 2

1 Attachment(s)
This is a guide to convert the DVD9 MULTI5 (De, Nl, Fr, It, En) to a single DVD5 MULTI2 (you can't make a single language DVD or the installer will pop loads of errors).

You'll need ORCA to edit the installer MSI file. You can get it here: http://www.technipages.com/download-...si-editor.html

#1

Extract your DVD9 contents to some folder on your hard drive.

#2

Choose the languages you want to keep on your DVD, on this example I'll keep English and French, however you can choose any other pair, just change according.

#3

DELETE THE FILES:

alocale\eal_dutp.vp6
alocale\eal_gerp.vp6
alocale\eal_itap.vp6

alocale\pcc_dutp.vp6
alocale\pcc_gerp.vp6
alocale\pcc_itap.vp6

data\audio\dat_dut.big
data\audio\dat_ger.big
data\audio\dat_ita.big

#4

OPEN THE FILE ON Support\localization.ini
AND DELETE THE LINES:

nl=1
de=1
it=1

and all other occurrences started with "nl=", "de=" or "it=" OVER "[CDKEY]", DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING BELOW "[CDKEY]".

#5

OPEN WITH ORCA THE FILE autorun.dat
Locate and remove the rows referring to the files we delete on #3 from the tables File and MsiFileHash (on MsiFileHash the dots (.) are replaced with underscores (_))
Save and close.

#6

Create a new DVD5 ISO compilation labeled FIFA09 and burn your DVD.

This file are the needed files to a French and English version. Just delete the audio files of the remaining languages.

Changed on installation:

* Removed other languages from showing up on game options.
* Default game language is now English
* MSIFileHash table rebuilt to the correct config.dat and fifa.exe file hashes
* No need to copy over noCD, it's installed directly (keep your original 12 Mb EXE just in case)

100 % works

SirArthur thnks great job.

Can you please upload edited autorun.DAT?

Sorry, I can't post the edited MSI or I would need to do it for every language pair combinations available.
That's however quite easy to edit with ORCA, just select the rows you don't want to install (files you physically removed, there is) and press delete key.

mondragon 02-10-2008 12:50

simple replace deleted files with empty files or any other renamed files ....
and thats all
skip editing msi [dat] files and other ini

Thank you,
but i really want to learn how did you edit it with not reducing file size,
i edited and saved then file reduced to 5,35mb.

Use only "Save" when saving

Don't use "Save As" or embedded substorages aren't saved and that will reduce filesize and make non-working msi

works for me...
only, i made a single language (english 3,92 Gb) dvd and at the beginning of installation i have only 2 errors:

EA_getask_error_0004
EA_getask_error_0008

everything works fine...just must skip this 2 errors...any clue?

You'll always have those errors, an empty EULA and several bugs on the installer GUI, such as a red disc instead of FIFA 09 logo along with the "Setup for default.wdx" thing.

You can't make a single language install, due to the installer needs to set a language prior to install anything.

I'm making a few changes, replacing config.dat to display only available languages on the game and directly install the noCD instead of the original EXE... I may pack it up and post here after I'm done.

For those having the MSI resized to 5 Mb (+/-), you're repacking the MSI and it will give you an error. Just edit the lines and save, no repacks.

ravd 02-10-2008 16:30

@Hazap, you can prevent those empty EULA and other problems with not skipping language selection. (Same happened with NFS ProStreet)

instead deleting these lines

fr=1
nl=1
de=1
it=1

add empty space front of them, and language selection then works and there will be only english shown.

FIFA 2009 Multi lang to one ENGLISH dvd5
1) Copy game to temp folder
2) Delete files:
for english language:
Code:

alocale\pcc_dutp.vp6
alocale\pcc_frep.vp6
alocale\pcc_gerp.vp6
alocale\pcc_itap.vp6
data\audio\dat_dut.big
data\audio\dat_fre.big
data\audio\dat_ger.big
data\audio\dat_ita.big

and replace all deleted files with faked [empty files] with the same name

3) Burn with volumelabel - FIFA09

NOTE:
remeber to replace deleted files
***********************
***********************
additional u can delete file: but that files are small
Code:

Redistributable\vcredist_x86_de.exe
Redistributable\vcredist_x86_es.exe
Redistributable\vcredist_x86_fr.exe
Redistributable\vcredist_x86_it.exe
Redistributable\vcredist_x86_ja.exe
Redistributable\vcredist_x86_ko.exe
Redistributable\vcredist_x86_zh-cn.exe
Redistributable\vcredist_x86_zh-tw.exe

if u want other language than english, delete english files [usually *eng* in name ]
for example dat_eng.big, pcc_engn.vp6 and other files that not belongs to your choose language

to save 54 mb free space use cdimage with some nice option to save doubled files only once [attr_p.vp6, attrf_p.vp6 - the same]
**********************
**********************
i still prefer to replace deleted files with faked ,
that skip any other additional editing
install/uninstsall fine [i dont have uninstall option under start menu?]

full backup is easy to do
go to file table, sort by filesize and change for few file sequence to biggest number that available already
go to media tables and add row

FIFA 2009 FULL BACKUP 2XDVD5
removed - embedded mst [ need some additional job]
-----------

ravd 03-10-2008 04:30

@mondragon

i noticed that #neutral1.cab so i grabbed autorun.dat from link provided hard worker

This is similar with mercenaries 2 with embedded mst files and when changing so much media tablets these mst's wont work

scorp222 03-10-2008 04:42

@mondragon

I did your english dvd5 method :
deleted and replaced with fake files the other languaghs as you described,
I didn't touched the directx files .

Installed the game without problems :D

Playing without problems :D

hazap 03-10-2008 07:17

tnx to @mondragon and "fake files"...works great !

also tnx to @ravd and "add empty space in front of" in \support\localization.ini

this is nice game but I'm still waiting for PES 09 :D

ravd 03-10-2008 08:02

I have no time to edit those mst and i don't have this game so i could test them even, i'm not interested fifa series so i'm not buying this. (waiting for NHL 09)

BUT... i think this is possible by just editing autorun.dat not embedded mst (there is only few changes when mst is applied), you just can't remove any rows in 'media' tablet, DiskPrompt must be FIFA 09 for both disks, label should be FIFA09 for DISK1 and FIFA09_2 (or something else) for DISK2

So lets recap

Change all DiskPrompts to FIFA 09
Change volumelabel to FIFA09_2 for rows which goes to DISK2 (only for rows 13-25, dont do this for rows 1-12, these files must be on DISK1 or install sequence will go 1-2-1-2)

Following this you can make working msi without editing embedded mst's

Copernic;

When I replace the original EXE to the noDVD, I create a new folder named ORIGINAL on the DVD and store there the original FIFA09.EXE. It's sort of "reversal" of what is normally done, nothing really to worry about, when you need to patch you simply copy over the original over the noDVD .EXE

To edit the config.dat you need BigGUI and a HEX editor:

1) Open with a Hex Editor (in my case I used HEX Editor plugin for Notepad++) the file config.dat and change "BIG4" to "BIGF" on the beginning of the file.

2) Open the config.dat with modified header with BigGUI and unpack locale.ini

3) Open the extracted locale.ini with any text editor and change the lines:
(change eng and fre to your language pair)
Code:

DEFAULT_TEXT_LANGUAGE = eng
INSTALL_LANGUAGE= eng

AVAILABLE_LANGS = eng,fre

4) Repack the file with BigGUI into config.dat

5) Open config.dat again with a HEX Editor now to replace "BIGF" to "BIG4"

7) Rebuild the autorun.dat with MsiFiller from Windows SDK to correct MsiFileHash table.

You don't quite need step 7 anyway, just to make it has it should be, luckily Microsoft's Install System is so lame that has a hash table inside but does no hash check at all (otherwise you would get loads of errors with those 0 byte lang files). WTG Microsoft!

Thanks , this conversion works with no problem . :)

mondragon 09-10-2008 06:29

use total commander to rename any file with extension,
normally windows dont shows extension
edit
or search for files that you see extension - good if that file is small
and copy and paste few times - replace all that files to name.ext of deleted files

ravd 13-11-2008 08:33

add empty space front of them

[space]fr=1

I know this post quoted above wasn't meant for me, but I really wanted to make only the available languages to appear in the language select menu, and this solution worked great. I skipped step 7, and so far, the game works like a charm, I just hope that step 7 doesn't bring me any future problems.
Thanks for the tip, SirArthur, and thanks to ravd for his help, despite the fact it didn't work on my game.

You can use a software Dummy File Creator or create a Notepad file and rename it to eal_dutp.vp6, for example....
