Sid Meier's Railroads -Problem
 

I install the game and made like it stands in the nfo but when ich try to start it, i only get an errormessage(z.b. "wrong disc", "need org. disc" ect.).

ich updated deamontools and i have last version of securomloader but nothing works. could someone plz help me.

The natural question now is "Does it work with your ORIGINAL disc"?

It looks like a new version of securom is out, unbeatable so far except by cracking.

I have the retail version and I payed for it. There is a store in my city that puts things out before they are supposed to (not sure if I am allowed talking about this, sorry if I get banned or something, but I did nothing illegal, the store that sold it to me early did).

I run my games from my hard drive, because they load faster, this game has a new version of securom, no images work with loaders for it.

Railroads isn´t out in Germany. Release is on 27.10.06! So I do not think he has the right CD! ;)

i do it. it's work. disable any cd and dvd in control panel\system and then set "all option on" in daemon tools. start the game with securom loader.

erm, no loader seems to work, and the emulation options in deamon tools should not matter...

I just try to do what u suggest n that doesn't work. So, i think we need to wait for a no cd .exe

I've also tried this, does not work.

Wait for the cracked EXE from the Reloaded release, they crack most Securom stuff.

It really works!

You need the newest version of Daemon Tools.
Disable all physical drives in Panel / System, also all virtual drives except the one used by Daemon Tools.

Now change the drive preferences for the virtual drive in Daemon Tools (choose another Drive Letter, change the name of the Drive, for example name it "LG"
Turn on all emulation mode. Not only Securom.

Use SecureRom Loader 7.xxx (newest Version), not ASR, to start the game.
It shoud work now.

Remember, it doesnt work if you dont change the preferences for the virtual drive!!!
Railroads uses a new version of Securom and it seems, that virtual drives used in emulation software are blacklistet!

I do exactly what u said dude n that still don't work...

But this time i get a error message like when a game crash n after the Securom Loader 7 said this message: Unable to get secret value... Weird maybe I miss something...

My solution works fine with the CD-Version of Railroads. I dont know if there is a dvd version available. I testet it several times and it works.

You need SecuROM Loader v7.26 (22-08-2006) [48 KB] - PROCYON
Also be sure you changed all preferences in the virtual drive of Daemon Tools.

1. Disable all drives in panel / system
2. Change the preferences in the virtual drive of Daemen Tools.
(Drive Letter, Name of Drive, all options available except version number)
You find this option under Mount Image.
3. Mount the Image with Daemon Tools.
4. Set emulation mode to all.
5. Start SecuROM Loader v7.26 and open railroads.exe in your
installation dir.

If it doesnt work, something is wrong with your image or preferences.
Maybe you have to restart your system, too.

ok, so you disabled the cd/dvd controller, so only daemon tools drive exists
is really of no consequence, considering daemon tools randomises it on every install, so it can not (in theory) be blacklisted, and why not edit the version number...
emulation mode is of no importance, daemon tools automatically determines what method to use when an image is mounted, the emulation modes apply only to burned images
many many people have tried this, the securom loader (procyon.. which is really a hacked up version of asr 1.2 - just the dll name is modified and a small bit of the exe as well) and it simply does not work..
okay well then it has to be the image right? how EXACTLY did you make your image?

I find it very very hard to believe that you are the only person (among many people on various forums) that got it working from a mounted image... (and that from your post, only parts 1 and 5 could really make any difference at all)

It works fine for me - believe it or not. But it only worked after I changed the preferences for the virtual drive. Im not telling you bullshit and wasting
my time to describe how to do it when i´m not sure that it works!

I only described which solution worked for me - i dont know if you need
all changes i described to run the game, but these worked fine for me.
And I know other people who get the game running with my solution, too.
"Bantu86" here in the forum get is also running.

If it doesnt work for you, its not mine fault. You dont have to dispute my
solution in every part.

but in this game there isn't a campaign? there are only some scenario?

forgive me, im just very wary of (relatively new) posters posting a 'magical solution'.. and it only working for two (relatively new) posters... you still have not explained how you made the image in the first place.. that could be a critical factor...

The solution is not "magical" - it works!
I made a normal image with newest version of Alcohol.

I saw also an image available in the usenet, but i dont know if it´s work.
Maybe you´ve got only a downloaded image - in this case you dont have
to wonder, that it doesnt work for you.

nope, i tried making my own image, which doesn't work with any of the anti blacklisting.. i did this because downloading full images is ILLEGAL and against the board rules..

now, can you please explain how you made your image, or did you download it?
