NEW Starforce Killer,Run all Starforce Protected games as mounted

This is something i just came across and its called SFSECURE

taken from the readme

As some of you know by now a tool called sfcure has been released on a
well known site. There a versions of this tool avaiable. One is a bit
older than the other one. I tested the newer one. Here is a little manual
for you all.

1. Unzip sfcure01.zip
2. doubleclick !setup.bat to install the driver and press "ok" to put the
needed information into your registry
3. restart your computer
4. to start the driver doubleclick !start.bat (to stop it after use
doubleclick !stop.bat)
5. Get yourself a copy of Splinter Cell Chaos in mdf/mds format made with
Alcohol 120%. The mds-file has to contain the DPM-information (DPM= Data
Position Measurement) and the mdf-file has to one big non-splitted image.
A image splitted into for example 2 gig segments wont work, at least it
didnt work for me. The mdf-filesize for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is 4,15
gigabyte for me.
6. Mount the image and install the game.
7. Start Starforce Nightmare 1.12 and disable your internal ide-Cd and
DVD-drives and also disable node.
8. Now start the game while the sfcure-driver is started and starforce
will verify that the mounted image is real. (Some of you maybe have to
restart your computer because Starforce tells you to do this)
9. Enjoy Splinter Cell Chaos Theory without an USB-drive!

Btw: The above mentioned method has also been tested by me on the following
games 1944: Battle of the Bulge, Panzers: Phase Two, Cross Racing Championship
2005 and Trackmania: Sunrise. I can personally confirm that I played them without
a problem.

Also a short note on Starforce Nightmare 1.12. From starforce version 3.5.XX.XX
and further you cant use Starforce Nightmare to disable your internal ide-CD and
DVD-drives. In such a case you have to manually remove the powercable from your
drives. But you still have to use Starforce Nightmare to disable node, because this
is needed to hide your virtual drives.

I hope this manual helps some of you without an USB-drive to play Splinter Cell
Chaos Theory and other SF-titles, while we wait for Daemon Tools 4. I also hope that
some clone-groups release high-DPM versions of newer SF-titles such as Bet on Soldier
or the upcoming Brothers in Arms.

Morglum007 02-10-2005 13:09

This tool have exactly one week and a half of age (SFcure 0.1) SFCure 0.3 is two days old.

noscript 02-10-2005 14:03

http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=70496&page=2

SoulFire 02-10-2005 21:12

my main idea was 2 get this 2 run on ALL games and not only splintercell CT

well for now that i see no cracks around, makking a perfect clone and then using the combo of SFCure + nightmare is the only way around 2 beating starforce and is the only way told by these cracker groups 2 play the game without a cd.
@noscript:no im not new 2 all this, and sf nightmare alone is no good against starforce.u need 2 use a combo of these 2

i didnt have much time 2 try around brian lara which is a cd game(not dvd)

any1 having success with the same do post back,i will too soon

Soul

bierhuettl 03-10-2005 00:21

khafan 03-10-2005 02:05

Yeah, SCCT is working here too :) .
if you have AMD64, you better use the sfcure 0.3 x64 since the old one gives you an error.

Alias101 03-10-2005 03:03

Great News...does this work with mini images aswell?

wildwing 03-10-2005 07:04

Baron 18-10-2005 06:26

I'll post back if it works 4 me!!!

Hi, and thanks for the info on the SFcure Proggy (i think it has to be run in a proper Dos box dosen't it??)
I have moved both my optical drives "Off Box" Using usb2.0 adaptors and external powered molexe's, to give me another two spaces for adding two xtra HDD's (two SATA 160GB's) raided, but with the additional advantage that the whole thing is running 20% cooler than it used to (AMD 2500+ - Fitted a fan where the DVD & DVD/RW used to be).
I have tried backup's via USB2.0 Optical drives without success (with and without SFN and S-Fu*k but not SFcure as yet), and wonder - do i still need mini-images with this method???

Thanks for the great site & forums,

Baron210 (UK)

dominusscholae 18-10-2005 08:41

Muji-FightR 18-10-2005 09:22

copybase.ch, go to "datenbank" and use the search.
click on DPm and download one of these mds files. you have to create a mdf files yourself, use the sticky

ChaosTheory 18-10-2005 09:31

please answer my question:

Can i run this game on win media center and win Vista Beta ?

DABhand 18-10-2005 10:05

Vista is a big possible, but its too buggy to run IMHO (in my honest opinion).

Media Centre should as its based on XP.

Diranar 18-10-2005 11:08

It won't run on Vista Beta because there are no image Programms like Alcohol or Daemon Tools available for Vista.
So you can't mount the image and can't get it to run with Sfcure.
Sorry, i think Vista People have to wait until the final Version is out next year, then with some luck there will be conversions from Alcohol and Daemon Tools.

Thanks a lot dude ! i always wanted to know what IMHO means :D
Once again, thank you :p lol I didnt even have to ask...
omg how stupid am I ?!

good_natured 18-10-2005 12:45

I have a problem with sfcure. I found that its trying to run as a windows service "StarForce Cure Driver". But when I run !start.bat it displays error message and doesn't start the service. I don't know what's the english equivalent of polish message but it says something about "system error 1" and "incorrect function". What should I do to fix this ?

EDIT: of course I've run sfcure01.reg

EDIT2: ok, i've made it work - needed sfcure for 64bit cpu (http://rapidshare.de/files/5748743/S...ocker.rar.html)
sorry for bothering

Vista is 32bit, and it will run both Daemon and/or Alcohol.

Please research before pulling answers out the air.

Diranar 20-10-2005 02:29

Right, but the final release of Vista will be available in 32 AND 64 bit Versions.

Search for : Windows Longhorn Client Preview 2 64bit Extended Systems Edition Checked Build

Missed the part that it will be also 32bit, and i don't use Beta's at all.
Let's see if it all will run on the final Versions.

DABhand 20-10-2005 02:42

AFAIK Vista will incorporate both 32 and 64 bit editions.

Ive tried a beta they sent me, I own a shop and im a MSCE so I get software from them.

And Alcohol and Daemon installed not a problem for me.

Daemon 4 should be out soon, so that will work with 64 bit editions anyways, and Alcohol is due a release soon also with 64 bit support.

Diranar 21-10-2005 01:08

ok

Yeah, thanks for telling me. I'm a little confused because i read in some Forums that people have problems getting Daemon or Alcohol to run on 64bit Os, Maybe they tried that with MacOS ;) [joke] :p

TippeX 21-10-2005 01:54

doesnt the h in imho = humble? ;)

DABhand 21-10-2005 02:23

Only if your american

PsiRedEye22 21-10-2005 06:52

I was wondering if my search for and work with StarForce breakers was over when I read this thread. It turns out it was a pipe dream. I still require my original DVD to play Worms 4: Mayhem, which was the reason I took up the squabble with them in the first place. It's ironic, really. My Worms 3D, Worms World Party and Worms Armageddon CD's lay in their archaic jewel cases (not so much worms 3D, it has a decent case), while I constantly need to pull out the Worms 4 DVD to play it.

Where did Codemasters go wrong? Jesus guys, lay off the unbreakable protection...I'll still buy em. And make another 2D Worms, please.

Sirrus 21-10-2005 09:39

I couldn't pass the protection. I already tried every mentioned step to kill SFC protection but in suffering it says "use another drive" and in GT legends that this is not original or something like that.

However, the problem is on nightmare 1.12. With unpluging power cables it works, i tried it. but what if i don't want to leave my computer like a wrecked car just for playing with my back-up cd???

My problem is with SF nightmare 1.12. i am disabling cd's, node and then pri-slave, sec-master, sec-slave but can not pass the protection.

my ide combination is:

Pri master: 80 gb seagate HD
Pri slave: LG CD/DVD-Rom
Sec master: LG CD-RW
Sec slave: Philips CD/DVD-RW

Is there any solution or advice? I would be appreciated...

Joe Forster/STA 21-10-2005 09:56

No, there is no other solution currently available. For GT Legends, you have to follow every step (!) of the instructions, otherwise it won't work; I tested it!

rocky_841 29-10-2005 23:04

is it true that this method does not work unless u have XP sp2? how about if u got sp1, or just plain xp with no service packs? anyone tried it without sp2?

personally i dont have sp2. i got sp1. got diallup sp dont wanna download sp2. so will it work for me?

@rocky 841
I notice you are from Australia. Now I dont know if this is the case in all countries but in Australia if you go to your local computer shop and ask for the Microsoft Sp2 Disc they will give it to you, on CD, for free!! ;)

Muji-FightR 30-10-2005 10:28

Well, in Germany nobody would do that ! They would just have a short look at you and think you're crazy...they would maybe tell you to download it yourself, but handing you out a CD would let them waste their money. They cant do THAT !

Grumpy 30-10-2005 14:19

The shops here will give you a proper Microsoft released CD of Sp2, I dont mean the shop will burn Sp2 to a CD for you. ;)

DABhand 30-10-2005 14:38

I give them just SP2 for free on CD-r..

Its good for business, I help them, they help me in the future by coming and buying things from my shop..

dooler 01-11-2005 07:18

Hey i have question i have a 160 gig hd, 1 DVD writer and a cd rom, what do i disable when i am using SF Nightmare after I start !start.bat and mount image in d-tools
