Act OF War Patch 2 no cd
 

Now that 2 weeks have passed, I request here for a No-DVD patch for Act of war no cd patch 2!

Specific date? Are you kidding? Have you ever tried developing anything?

A specific release date can only be given if the job is already done. He said he is working on it, how will he be able to give you a specific date, if he hasn't finished his work yet? I mean (and not want to put bad luck to this) things could arise, problems, anything while developing.

BTW a bit OT but thats a good motherboard that A7N8X-X :) shame it doesnt have SATA onboard :\

Thanks... Thing is, it's good value (one of the cheapest around) and does its job. Thing that disappointed me was the lack of Dual Channel support.

However, anyway, after a nice power failure that burnt both MB and CPU, I'm now with a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP and an Intel Celeron D 2.8 GHz. How nice... Fortunately, no harm to the 6800.

It's a well known phrase that says "Want something good done? Do it yourself." Since you can't do it yourself, please respect that a person is at least trying, and get off his neck.

From experience, being constantly asked for a release date does NOT help at all.

If it was in a joky way, it was in some "joky" way I didn't understand.

But I'm not here to start a war, I became a member to help. So calm down, and be patient.

whoa, we've got some hostility there, we have enough wars going on. ;) :D , on another note, I have been working on the file a little bit after work everyday, and made a little progress, I have been bogged down at work recently. Anywho, as far as a date, I have no clue, I'm going the fastrest I can, best way I've found so far, while your waiting is to use a image file. Thanks guys.

Take all the time you need :D , maybe the price will drop and be cheaper for me to buy than $49 :eek:

Has anyone made an alcohol 120% image of ActOfWar DVD?

An image that is around 5.17 GB in size?

If so, then can someone give me the respective ".MDS" file for this image? Its somewhere between 5 to 9 KB in size...

I just realized that those small ".MDS" files created along with the actuall images (".MDF") are actually important and sould not be deleted...http://www.fileforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

As I've seen other threads getting closed because of the stupid behavior of people not caring about the content of the thread, I'm kindly requesting that the mods do not close this thread because of the above posts, as SirMaverick is actually a person putting some effort into cracking this game, and is nice enough to let us know of his progress.

Actually, this was the last Image I could get out of my DVDROM beforeit died...

BUT, I gave it one hell of a smacking and it barely created a correct image this time...

Now that image works correctly...

Sadly, the DVD ROM won't work at all...

I'm wondering if we're going through all this just to find a new patch a few days after the crack is released¿¿¿ :confused:

Has anyone tried making a mini-image just for giggles?

I haven't myself, maybe that would be better at least for now. One question for all of you, what virtual image software do you use? I use daemon tools.

Daemon tools seems the most reliable for using mini-images (when combined with Starforce nightmare). Alcohol seems easiest to make them with (its surprisingly simple). If anyone has a clone or the actual DVD and would care to make one and post it for testing it would be highly appreciated.

Does anyone have any tutorials or tips when it comes to making mini-images with alcohol?

And another thing; there is a program called Anti-Blaxx which blocks secuROM7, which might be worth taking a look at if Act Of War uses securom (I currently use this to run Stronghold2 without a cd).

Daemon Tools has securom emulation also. Just right click in the tray icon, and highlight emulation. Alcohol has a image making wizard you can use. I use 1.9.5, and when I open the program at the top left you will see the image making wizard. My image is finished, testing it now.

Starforce Nightmare also defeats securom7. That is what I use as antiblaxx seemed to give me issues. As far as making a mini image with alcohol 120%:

Start with the original CD or Clone.
Start making the image (use a slow speed, 300k is good) when it hits 2% cancel the image but do NOT delete it.
Voila a working mini-image. if it doesn't work, try going a tad bit longer to see if it helps.

So I don't need to have any special options enabled in Alcohol?

It depends on the copy protection in question. Generally you need to choose the proper copy protection on the pull down menu. occasionally you need to check a box. If you google it, sometimes you can find the settings you need for that particular copy protection. Otherwise just experiment if it doesn't work right.
