Championship Manager 03/04 HELP!

Hey guys,

I recently downloaded the crack Championship Manager 2003/2004 v4.1.5+ [ENGLISH] No-CD/CD-Image. There is a problem though. I foolishly tried to use isobuster and extract it to the CM0304 directory to see if that worked. It didn't. I tried to delete the file and it gives me "Access is denied. It is being used by another person or process". It isn't though cos theres nothin' usin it in task manager and ive restarted EIGHT (8) times and its still giving me that. Whats the problem?

I am running windows xp pro if that helps.

Thanks for your time guys! :) ,

Now, you downloaded what.....a fix or the whole cd-image?
(Better be careful about your answer now)

Ricey420 02-07-2004 07:22

It was a cd image of the no cd. instructions were to burn it, put it in the drive and then play as normal ... but what I done was extracted the cm0304.exe in it using isobuster and now it wont delete

Luciel 02-07-2004 07:26

what i dont get, why did u extract in the first place?

Ricey420 02-07-2004 07:30

to try and get around burning it cos I was burning something else. I know, foolish move but why wont it lemme delete it? :(

Luciel 02-07-2004 09:14

Fool? oh yes you are.
Problem? Oh yes you have.
Solve? don't know how.

Okay NEXT time read the f*cking instructions. IT WAS'NT A NO-CD CRACK. IT WAS AN EMPTY IMAGE AND AN EMPTY .EXE FILE. IT WAS A FIX. MOUNT IT AND START THE GAME. IT WILL GET RID OF THE CD-CHECK. WHY EXTRACT A 56KB FILE?
Why can't people read nfo or instructions to download. yeah you are a fool and I have all the rights to ":o" you! :p

Ricey420 02-07-2004 09:57

Ive tried starting in safe mode. That doesnt work. ive tried everything. Even tried to shred it with window washer and even that doesnt work :S

Now onto the bigmouth over there. Im not being ungreatful but I have done nothin to be spoken to like that. Not a no cd crack? Read the file name, i quote "Championship Manager 2003/2004 v4.1.5+ [ENGLISH] No-CD/CD-Image". It says NO-CD there! And also, when i try open.nfo files it just doesnt happen :P (or maybe theres a special way to open them, i dunno). Anyway, im not here to argue...Im just lookin for a saviour!

Cheers dudes

Open nfo with wordpad or notepad.

A it's still a no-cd becuase you dosen't have to put in a cd in the driver. However it's not no-cd crack. And read the instruction down the title and you see.

Don't know IsoBuster, is it a mounting tool? or a burner tool or and extraction tool?

Try to uninstall IsoBuster, then all the extracted files (do it on dos).
Small .exe is a pain in the ass to delete in Windows XP. Open notepad write
"delete 'name'.exe"

'name'=name of the .exe file.

save it as del.bat and then run it. If you are lucky and have done all the above things, you might succed to delete the file.

Ricey420 02-07-2004 10:30

Isobuster is a program that lets you open .bin files and then extract the files inside it.

Anyway, i tried what u said and still...nothing. The command pormpt comes up for less than a second and disappears again. Although i took a screen shot and found out it told me it couldnt find the path.

Thanks for the help guys...but I still need the solution :P

Ricey420 02-07-2004 11:09

thanks

Luciel 02-07-2004 14:41

arg cmd is like dos or very similar its command base its to long to explain

Stanman67 04-07-2004 05:00

No saracy comments please but is mounting the same as burning?? :( :o

krondike 04-07-2004 05:20

mounting isn't the same as burning! Read my backup guide and you might understand why...

Luciel 04-07-2004 10:22

Mounting is putting the image of a cd in a virtual drive.

simmmy 04-07-2004 11:01

Are you sure it was a no/cd crack or have you just installed something more sinister... a virus or trojan that is running in your processes folder... and maybes that why you can`t delete it.

Simmmy

krondike 04-07-2004 12:32

It's not a virus.
The problem is that Windows XP have problems to delete some type of file. Specialy small non iconen.

It's not an .exe file becuase it's totaly empty. And Image is totaly empty. IT'S not a virus.

Image created in WinIso.
.exe file is created in notepad (save as a .exe file).

.exe empty.
image just added the empty .exe file and label it.

Ricey420, it may be running with explorer. This seems to be a problem with XP, and has happened to me before. This is what I had to do to fix it, as I also tried safe mode. Like krodike said, it is usually due to a file being executed that cannot be executed. However, it is notbecause some filetypes cannot be deleted.

First, you might want to write down the path to the folder with that file. (just go into windows explorer and go to the folder, then copy what is shown in the address bar).

Hit ctrl+alt+delete, and choose task manager. Then sort by name. Find "explorer.exe" (not "iexplorer.exe"). Then hit "end task". This will shut down explorer, so don't be alarmed when your desktop disappears.

Next, click the [file] menu and choose "new task (run)". When the pop-up box shows up, type "cmd" and hit enter (or click OK). This will bring up command prompt (aka dos)

Then, type "cd\" and hit enter. It should bring you to the drive root. Next, type "cd folder_with_file in_it", and hit enter. "folder_with_file in_it" is the path to the file (right click and choose paste if you copied it).

Now, hit "dir" and hit enter, make sure that file shows up there. When you see it, type:
del "filename.exe"

It should delete successfully. Now, close command prompt and in task manager, click [file], "new task" again. This time, type "explorer". That should start explorer up again and your desktop should reappear. Next time, I suggest you don't rename a file to .exe and run it, unless it is a backup ;) . It is such a bitch to remove.

note: if you don't shutdown explorer, you will get a message in cmd saying the file is in use.

Maybe Alcohol 120% or GameJack would help you to put that whole Stuff on CD or DVD...
