the official "I hate LOTR" thread

who hates it. the trilogy? who doesn't like it?

man its so overrated. i hate it with passion. who else is an anti LOTR person.

gh0sth@cker 19-02-2004 15:34

What exactly don't you like?
In my opinion it's one of the best trilogies ever. Give some reason as to your hatred

JoyBoy 19-02-2004 16:25

I'm with patch god. This Trilogy is an overhyped piece of crap. Go watch the Evil Dead Movies to see how a REAL Trilogy should be made. Groovey! :D

I kid, The LotR Trilogy is good, but in my eyes its the length of the movies that causes me to fall asleep sometimes. Or is it that they are boring? Lets face it Two Towers was all about that one battle at the end. So, What the hell was the point of the preceding 2 hours then? Return of the King thought it was pretty clever too. What with the Multiple Endings in the Last 30 mins of the movie. Everytime the screen went black, the people in the cinema would clap or cheer (maybe because they were glad it was over?) and then get ready to leave but just when they reach the exit the film would come back on. Those 'blackouts' had no reason to last so long. Anyways, as I was saying, yes I do like Rincewind's Man Boobies

Frodo and Sam act like a couple of faggots to me :D. (just kidding) Its to long and boring, Its also a good cure for insomnia.

patch god 19-02-2004 18:34

lol. hey im not giving reasons. these guys already named a few good ones. i just don't like LOTR. is there a law against hating it?

Quall999 22-02-2004 05:48

I liked the trilogy. Is a bit long and can be boring at times, but I still thought it was great.

I thought the same thing lol before I saw the 3rd movie.

TylerDurden 22-02-2004 09:19

Ive seen the movies and read the books. I personally thought it was a great adventure story. The movies held up very true to the books even with the limited time allowed.

The homosexual situations were in the books as well and even seemed more so. But you just open your mind and think these are different beings and other lands wich we know nothing of their customs.

I mean Italian men kiss other men on the cheeks dont they?

I liked the movies and the books. I read the booked about 10 years ago and as Tyler said, the movies stick close to the books for the most part. I think Peter Jackson did a good job of that.

I thought that Jackson did a really good job at directing the movies. The Extended editions are even better as they fill in what had to be cut out and makes the movies go along even more w. the book. I have read all three @ least two or three times and really enjoy watching the movies.

EVOEvo 11-03-2004 14:45

he was prob BSing me to steal my money good thing i did pay yet lol

patch god 19-03-2004 23:37

lol. they r too long i think. maybe if they were 2 hours and they cut half the crap out im not sayin action action action all the way. but just something that can keep me awake:p

btw a few of my mates went and saw the trilogy marathon at the movies. they watched all three in a row!!!!

I would seriously pay NOT to watch them all:D
