When u start ur daemon tools remember to set emulation to only RMPS and no other..., Also remember that u need to UNINSTALL Alcohol 120% or u won't be able to go past the blacklisting part... or ya.. it's quite slow to load about between 1-2mins...

oh Dieselbrad heh heh... sorry... didn't see that u've already provided instruction on how to use the image..... most of the people out there doesn't want to waste a blank CD... oh well a blank CD is much cheaper than losing an Ori CD...

Sounds to me like you need to set RMPS in Daemon tools.(& ONLY RMPS) You do not need any anti-blacklisting tools that just complicates the matter.
Be sure those are not hiding anything also.

Try this: Double-Click on "My Computer" and Look at the Drive in which the image is in. In my case F:

If the Drive labels the image as NEEDS EMULATION guess what? You Need to set RMPS in Daemon tools On. Google it if your unsure.

Send me a scrrenshot if it still isn't working. I'll try to help much as I can.
Also I need OS & version, IDE or Sata configuration and Image software.

@gamer_kid: "Original" means original; the CD('s)/DVD('s) you bought in the shop. Do you have them? You can't make a working backup from a copy, you know.

Don't know which part u do not understand, it seems to be quite straight forward. Remember to remove getright, alcohol and clonecd to name the few. It won't ask u for the ori disc if u have inserted the backup cd at any of the drive, removed Alcohol 120%, and had turn on emulation on Daemon Tools 4.03 for RMPS only. It seems to me u may not have burned the image using Alcohol 120%. If u have, make sure u have set the settings at the Alcohol 120% to burn at a "Normal Disc" settings. The most important part is that u must actually own the game... ;) (Reminder - The backup cd is for u to protect ur ori disc from overuse so don't misuse :p )

If you have followed instructions it should work however one tedious detail remains.

You must turn RMPS emulation on BEFORE you mount the image.

Otherwise you must unmount the image and Remount it in Daemon Tools v4.03.

I had done first 3 steps.

Please Make sure you are burning image with alcochol 120%.
Nero and others won't cut it.

2 quick questions:

1. Is it possible to play the 1.3.1 version without burning anything. (I don't have a writer)
This may sound weird, but pls, don't start nagging about it. ^^
I do have the necessary utilities to play cracked games, such as D-Tools, Alcohol, SRstop and SD4hide.

2. Is there a big difference between the 1.2 (for which a real crack exists) and the 1.3.1 version ?

A simple yes or no is fine by me. I just don't want to encounter a major bug, when I'm enjoying the game. (in Stronghold 1 I couldn't get past a certain mission, because it kept crashing, I 'solved' it by downloading a savegame of the next mission)

now i have other question. why in this version (1.3.1.), everytime i try to play siege game, and be defender of any castle, the game tell me that im defended at the start? (when i try to atack any castle, everything is ok).

Even after making Emulation file as a "Normal CD" in Alcohol 120% and then doing the RPMS on Daemon 4.03, when I put the CD into the computer, nothing comes up. Nothing mounts and when I try to play the actual game, I get the "please put in the original CD." But I want to have a back up that works. I don't have any other programs installed that would bar me from playng, anything else you think I should check that hasn't been said?

Version 1.3.1 Solves a lot of problems pertaining mainly to Multiplay.
However it adds a new Gametype and Several Maps.
Also you are unable to play online without this update if you aren't using your original disc.

I say Get the update. It's worth it.

I think this is actually a game bug.. Usually a restart will help. I've had this problem since day one witj the retail version.

I did everything step by step, and it didn't work for me. Still says: "A required security module can not be activated. This program can not be executed."

First I tried with a CD-RW and it didn't worked. The I tried with a CD-R. Didn't worked either.

I am using Daemon Tools v4.03HE with RMPS Emulation On.

I have 2 physical drives. One is a DVD Drive, and the other one is a DVD-RAM drive. I don't have CD-ROM drives. Could this be the problem ?

You should be seeing a "Wrong Disc inserted" Error if your system is clean from Alcohol 120% and have no anit-blacklisting tools running.(SRstop and SD4hide)

The drive should not matter, assuming it can read CD-Roms, and DaemonTools 4.0x will work just fine. Do you have any other Cd burning or backup software that would be hiding something? Will the game start with oringinal CD-ROM?

Also, If the executable is hanging 30sec before telling you this than something is interfering w/ RMPS emulation. Ensure the Disc is identified in Windows as SH2 and not "Needs Emulation".

I just formated a few days ago, and the only burning program I have installed is Nero. Apart from Daemon Tools, I don't have another emulation program running. Neither I have SRstop or SD4hide.

And yes, the disc is identified as SH2.

Is really weird... don't have a clue of whats going on.

Just I woke up this morning, I had the solution for my problem.

And the thing interfering with the game was......... NOD 32 Antivirus System.

I just close it, and problem solved. So anyone who has the same problem as mine, you know what to do :D

Hehe, NOD32 took one of the SecuROM modules for malware? Not very far from the truth! :D

Should work fine. I know the Deluxe uses a diff EXE.. You may need to make an image of your cd-rom rather than using the on on GCW.

Wow, great! Yes it DOES work with Delux. I hadn't even had to try it more than once.

This is the problem:

I did all of this:

1. Install Alcohol 120%- Restart Your Computer.
2. Disable All virtual drives in Alcohol 120%
3. Under Options Enable Sub-Channel burning for SecuRom Games.
(Middle of 3 Options)
4. Burn the Image(“Needs Emulation) as a “NormalCD” at 40x or lower.
5. Once Image is written Uninstall Alcohol 120% - Restart Your Computer
6. In Daemon Tools v4.03 (or Higher) Enable only RMPS emulation.
7. Insert the Newly Burnt Cracked Image in a PHYSICAL CD-ROM Drive!
8. Play the Game

And my alcohol 120% is gone, my cd is not NEEDS_EMULATION but SH2_DISC2
I don't have anti blacklisting thing's or CloneCD etc. on...

Litro had similar problems.. try disabling any Antivirus software, and give it another go.

To help me help you. Go to Start -> Run ->type 'msconfig'

Go to the startup tab and post the name of the startup items within this tab.

This will give me a good indication of what is running.
NOTE: DO NOT make any changes in system config if you don't know what your doing please :)

Yes I restalled Windows
Then it worked for a little while, then I made a server with MYSQL
( I had the server before when it worked ) and now I doesn't work anymore :S
I uninstalled the server now :)
But I don't have any antivirus running at the moment :S
and when I'm in the msconfig whats the next thing I should dO?

Click the 'Startup' tab and list all the startup items in there.
IMPORTANT!! Do NOT change anything in there!! When quitting just choose 'Cancel'. ;)

Have you overwritten the EXE with a crack? According to your description, I assume you didn't. Then there's a problem with your installation, not the CD/image.

Also, where did you get that "sh2_disc2" image from? Looks like you should create a better (image) copy of your original CD!

its fixed now and i had a crack so i installed again :p but now i have a other error: unable to authentic original disc within time limit.try again?
and if i try again: original disc couldn't be found or authenticated.:(

RMPS emulation is not working correclty or the disc is a bad burn.
Be sure you have the disc image from GameCopyWorld with RMPS info.

Stronghold 2 v1.3.1 [ENGLISH] Fixed CD-Image

The best option still, if you know how to take the image of your original disc w/ RMPS, you can do this with Alcohol 120%.
I'm sure there is a guide somewhere for this.. Google is your friend. :)

So am I right in that there is no way to run this game without having a CD in the drive? I don't care about having a backup image work - I don't want to fetch a disc each time.

All of the advice thus far has been about getting it to work with a backup CD, right? Has anyone found a solution with a mountable image?
