I'm running Wiz8 on WinXP and there are no problems. The v1.24 fixed wiz.exe and no-cd both appear 100% (naturally). Check your game installation and make sure you unarchived the 12/23 game patch with all its subdirectories correctly.

I'm pretty sure I did it properly, nevertheless I'll give it a second look. Maybe I forgot something

i read it, it says asking for crack is garbage, but i see lots of topics titled with "crack" even more i found out this site writing x game + crack in google, did you know this ?

Even even more, lots of share done i see before my post, so if it is not legit, why keeping them alive still ?

Upload the files needed to see the "Insert disc" message.

No, it doesn't; read it again. By the way,
what's wrong with this page: http://m0003.gamecopyworld.com/games...zardry_8.shtml ?!

Not weird: GCW has multiple mirrors. And you haven't offended anyone but get used to reading FAQ's before asking - after all, that's exactly what FAQ's are for.

I know that this thread is old as dirt, but I needed to post in here my problem.

I have just recently acquired this game, Wizardry 8. I have tried the "no cd-crack" for 1.0. It doesn't work. It says it cracked the file, but it still asks for the stupid cd in the drive. I have tried patching it to 1.2.4, and also the 1.2.4 cd-crack, and it STILL doesn't work! What the hell is wrong with it?! I really, really do not like the type of cracks where I have to "press any key" to crack a file for a game. I much prefer the cracked .exe file.

I have a Dual-Boot Windows XP Pro, and Windows 7 Ultimate (both are 32Bit).

Joe Forster/STA 10-09-2011 03:44

Try it with a copy (burned CD/CD-RW or, preferably, mounted CD image) of the original: the crack may only remove the necessity to insert the original CD into a/the CD driver.

Richardf269 10-09-2011 08:30

I've already tried mounting an image of it. Still won't launch the game.

I presume the game does 'play' when using the original disc?

Richardf269 10-09-2011 09:10

Nope. Disc's too scratched up over the years I've owned it. I created the image file a few years ago when I first grabbed the game. But I've never really played it because I honestly forgot I owned it up until now. It was sittin' on my floor for a good while, so it's no good to use, and I'm not able to get another one.

Joe Forster/STA 10-09-2011 09:18

Uhm, the forum rules clearly state: no original -> no support here.
