Purple DVD's
I've hear that the more purple a DVD disc is the better a PS2 will read them. Is this true and if yes, why ?
*** EDIT *** Ive also heard that they read DVD+r better than DVD-r !! sound rubbish to me !?

Darker and dvd-r. They have a higher reflectivity %, which is what the ps2 likes.

Technically dvd+r are better than dvd-r but that doesnt mean your ps2 will read them better. I read an extremely long report on why dvd+r are better in the long run but I cant remember all of it. Anyways, more components will read -r against +r any day. Tyler! |

I'd use a +rw over a -rw, as the +rw refractivity is superior to -rw.
The difference between -r's and +r's is minimal. I always use -r's, the ps2 likes them better and (best of all) they are cheaper. Mozoltov!
