DVD Covers and Labels
for the most part i have i am posting in the right forum if not admin just move this over to is rightful place..
anyways i am not a big fan of fancy cd labels and covers and all ( i have no problem jotting down the name of the movie with my sharpie) when it comes to backing up my dvds, but lately i have been playing around with my lightscribe feature (came with it might as well use it every once in a while) and was wondering if there was a good site where i could download the DVD cover pics (dont have to post the name or link of the site on here if it is against the rules, just send it to my by pm or email) I mainly would like to use it for my kids movie backup, i don't let them use the original discs because well they are kids and they will eventually scratch them up so i just make them backup copies that they can beat up on all day. if i a can lightscribe the pics on the DVDs it would help my little girl out the most cuz she is only 3 yrs old and can't read yet but she knows how to use the dvd player and knows what movie she wants to watch by the picture on the disc or cover..any help would be greatful TIA |

If I'm not mistaken, "lightscribe" is for putting pictures to the unused part (the unwritten outer circumference) of the DVD. If you back up a factory DVD, there won't be any space left so you should rather use "printable" DVD's that have a white printable surface on their top and a printer that supports printable DVD's. (Make sure to use brand DVD's - TDK, Philips, Verbatim - as most of these printable DVD's are of low quality!)
As for DVD covers, well, A) scan your original or B) use Google (yes, there are lots of such sites but I'm not sure if they're legal).

thanks for the input, but using the lightscribe is not an issue, i have done about 4 of them over the past day or so just for testing and the images come out pretty good..( all you do is flip the dvd over when you are done burning then burn the image on the other side) i have one site but i know it is poluted with spyware .. i kill spyware and virii everyday for work hate to have to do it at home as well..

I have the external burner: LG GSA-2166D which is able to do lightscribe. It looks very cool and professional. Much more better than printable dvds.

Hmmm, maybe I was thinking of the older technology called DiscT@2? Anyway, for descriptions and examples, see http://www.lightscribe.com and http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/LightScribe.
