that just been posted on GCW does not work is there a way to contact the uploader and tell him it don't work?
If your on Vista or Windows 7, you can either disable UAC, by going to START > Control Panel > User Accounts > (Pick an account if multiple accounts are on your machine) > Then on window disable bottom option to turn off User Account Confirmation.
Or...
Right click the trainer and run as administrator.
If that fails then the trainer doesnt work.

this one does not work... will be there a working one?
The problem is this ME2 is a scripted game, i.e. health routines will be different for a new start player and for other imported ME1 characters. It is quite difficult to properly train this 100%.
But you can manipulate your cash and mineral values easily enough with any memory scanner out there. Many have done this who dont have game hacking knowledge from the forums ive seen, I cant see 100% myself for sure dont have the game.

thanks but i dont know what to use to use to manipulate the cash and minerals for mess effect 2 do you have a noob tutorial for just this game thanks
Nope, it doesn't work at all. None of the 4 options on it do.
You can use a hex editor like Cheat Engine to hack the memory and increase ammo, credits etc.
It's a hit and miss most of the time and time consuming.

eyebiz thank 4 da trainer it really works... keep up the good work man
It really works - both options. Very good job mate. Please, try and give us a
+9 trainer: god, money, resources (all 4), unl. ammo and no reload, etc. Thanks again.
Glad you like it.
I'll do my best to add more options.
an issue... when your trainer is activated the planetary scanner is screwed up. After disabling it, everything's back to normal.
Yep, seems to be the Ammo option causing this.
I'll look into it.
Actually I found the address where the shield value is stored by searching for 8 byte data ... (Unknown value -> Increased, Decreased ... )
Sorry guys, I have to admit defeat here.
Values for most options found in memory, but I'm not skilled enough to find the correct pointers setting up the memory.
Hats off to Caliber.
Considering this was my first attempt at training a game, I'm not too upset :)
A new trainer can be found on GGW:
http://m0020.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_mass_effect_2.shtml#Mass
Good work to whoever the author is, even though it's not a plus 8 (In that there are resource hacks, ammo hacks, and a health workaround; I make that around 3?). In any case, that's trivial, I have seen a few attempts by novices to do trainers for this, and while some options are easier (resources), some aren't (ammo, most certainly health etc). They tend to be 'workarounds' or have quite major side-effects which could royally screw up your save. Don't be expecting miracles with these that's all :) It's a tricker-than-usual one.

i think the best option here is learn to use Cheat Engine...
i DL this soft just to test it with ME2 and is hard i think, test and error, more error than test but anyways...
i can find the memory path of my talent points, fuel, ammo, money, but when i load again my savagame all the memory change again and i need to redo everything..., is annoying :(
Any1 can show me the path of the light for use this program with ME2? i read some default tutorials but, afaik, ME2 engine is a hard one...
would be nice if some1 can tell me some search parameters at least, like Memory Scan Options, Value Type, etc etc etc
The +8 trainer doesn't work, maybe cos that "memory change" problem i mentioned before...
(I know... my english suck... sry)
What you encountered is DMA and has been going for many many many years.
You will need to know ASM to defeat it properly, but for Mass Effect 2 as your starting point in learning you couldnt have picked a more difficult game to do this with.

Hi,
Just wanted to share few tips using CheatEngine for mass effect. First of all it seems cheat mod mentioned before works just fine and has most options you need, may be in exception for talent points. Invulnerability, Unlimited ammo, credits, resources. Anyway, here's few tips.
Most options I mention here (credits, resources, stat points) are one time cheats, so you don't need to do it all over again.
1. Save your game before you do any cheating, something might go wrong, even more - go to your save game folder and backup save game before you've cheated in case it gets overwritten or deleted.
2. Save your game after you've cheated, so you don't need to do it again if you get killed and have to load.
NOTE: For best results, ESPECIALLY when looking for talent (squad) points, you should do search when you Alt-Tab in game (Not in mission computer, not in squad points distribution window). Take a note of value you are going to look for, press resume game, Alt-Tab.
Money and resources:
Be in a place where you can easily gain or spend some money, preferably few times in a row. Citadel shopping district for example.
Search for your initial money in CE (Exact Value, 4 Bytes Integer). If you get lots of adresses, buy something or crack a safe and search again for new value (usual stuff for CE). You should be left with few addresses, preferably only 2. Try changing them by +1, +2 credits accordingly and check in game to see which one of them stores the real value you need to change.
When you have money, all other resources seem to be stored in tight record relative to money. All resources are stored as 4 byte integers, they go in sequance:
MediGel is Money address +4 bytes.
Element Zero: +8 bytes
Iridium: +12 bytes
Palladium: +16 bytes
Platinum: +20 bytes
Easy way to add these is to select money address and from drop down menu press Browse this memory region, select address and from drop down menu press "Add This address to the list".
As for heavy weapon ammo, it's stored somewhere else, not in this record.
Talent (squad) points:
Save your game, and back it up.
You should have few spare points to spend, and be able to spend them few times to change talent point value.
Take a note of slected members squad points, exit squad point distribution, and resume game, then Alt-Tab to CE.
Look for first value. Alt-Tab to game, go to point distribution, spend some points (take note of new value), exit point distribution, resume game, Alt-Tab to CE and search for new value.
Rinse and repeat until you are left with 2 addresses. Change them to see which one works.
Save your game.
Hope this will help someone.
P.S. I break my toys before i play.
Although! These will need to be re-found every time using this method, as you haven't really made a 'hack' here. Just a temporary address edit.

i think is a good start ME2, if i pick something easy im going to forget all what i learn at the end, this game is a pain in the ass :P i redo the same shit over and over, is impossible to forget what i do, step by step, at the end, i can really hate Cheat Engine or like it.. idk..

Hi, this is my fitrst time here, It was'nt supposed to be a trainer, just a few tips for using CE.
As I mentioned here, most options are one time cheats anyway (you cheat lots of credits, resources, points) and forget it, unless you manage to spend a billion credits. Combined with cheat mod which adds infinte ammo, invulnerability and removes skill recharge timers, this should be all the trainer you need.
I hold Caliber and other traner makers in high respect and I would never imagine to mach their skills.
Btw... DMA & ASM means? tell me so i can google it lol
DMA = Dynamic Memory Allocation - i.e. addresses for storing data change each game, level and/or saved game load.
ASM = Assembly.
You dont have to go far, check the coders section on this forum. I done some tutorials, on ASM and on a few on DMA defeating.
And yes ME2 is the one of the more difficult games to train fully, due to scripted events.
I have found that inferno's +8 trainer crashes ME2 when I activate god mode, although everything else works to a certain degree. For some reason the inf ammo doesn't seem to work for the grenade launcher or anything in that slot.
i think is a good start ME2, if i pick something easy im going to forget all what i learn at the end, this game is a pain in the ass :P i redo the same shit over and over, is impossible to forget what i do, step by step, at the end, i can really hate Cheat Engine or like it.. idk..
No. I'd have to stress again that, no, it's not a good start :P

It appears that KelSat released his new trainer for Mass Effect 2.
I just downloaded it, I have yet to see if it works.
http://m0001.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_mass_effect_2.shtml the one that says +7
Hmm, causes my game to crash as soon as I activate it. Shame
scratch that. I activated it at the main menu and entered ingame. Then activate all the other options and it works like charm!
It also works with eyebiz's small yet awesome trainer :)

Itīs from KelSat. What else is there to say? :D
I dunno if you replied to my edits or to the original post, but the trainer is pretty much unstable.
One time it works like magic and the second it crashes instantly. Very unpredictable. Also if only the trainer had an infinite ammo option. I think merging between eyebiz's trainer and KelSat's one is causing one of them to crash. not entirely sure though.:(
I wish I could use Cheathappen's trainer. I could get into a big argument about how CH should be a free site, but I won't.
I could show you how to enable infinite ammo :P
1. Download Notepad++ http://sourceforge.net/projects/notepad-plus/files/notepad%2B%2B%20releases%20binary/npp%205.6.6%20bin/npp.5.6.6.Installer.exe/download - Never EVER use normal Notepad, Wordpad or Word to edit the ini file.
2. Download Ruby and I included a ruby script to fix the CRC of the .ini file after editing. http://vwaskar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ruby/ruby.rar
3. Install Notepad++ and Ruby (which is in the .rar file)
4. Copy the included .rb file, to your C:\Program Files (x86)\Mass Effect 2\BioGame\Config\PC\Cooked (or whever you installed it) and paste it in here, so that you only have the .ini file and .rb file there.
5. Make a backup of your original unaltered coalesced.ini file. And open with Notepad++ make your changes.. And no dont AllowD3D10use when you see the option, as its not fully supported.
6. When done making changes, save, and then open up the .rb file. It may or may not have associated the file type, if not find ruby.exe (not rubyw.exe) where you installed it and tick always open up this file type with this program. It will then scan the ini file and make a fixed - coalesced.ini file. Delete your amended file you did and rename the new one by removing the "fixed - " and thats it.
I put this on CH forum also, but hey hum its not a big deal :)
Check near the bottom of the .ini file you will come across the weapons, and you will see an option to enable infinite ammo for EACH weapon not just a one time option. You can also muck around with damage etc.
I also have an edited ini file for better stability and more texture memory usage, and removed intro movies. http://www.vwaskar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/fun/Coalescedv2.rar just remember to remove the v2 when moving the file to the correct folder.

Hey guys, has anyone who has had the chance to test KelSat's trainer noticed a bug when you press NumPad2 and the game crashes to the desktop? I've tried starting it before/after starting the game, in the root menu, in the pause menu after loading a save, etc. I get the same crash every time. Just wondering if it's an isolated case or if anyone else has noticed it.
ME2 is heavily scripted.. I doubt Kelsat found all triggers and properly did them right.

Probably true, although he did a great job, since all the other functions appear to work... too bad the second I press NumPad2, the game crashes without fail:confused: :(
Hopefully he'll come out with a fixed version, possibly one that includes the other options that people have been asking for as well
Either way, thanks to all those who've given it their best thus far :D

LOL thanks Smells Like! I just wanted to confirm here to make sure that it wasn't an issue on my end, so thanks for the info ;)
Like I said, hopefully KelSat (or someone as equally talented) will come out with a more reliable trainer, and I won't have to avoid that key (or press it by accident lol).
Just as a side note, and oddly enough, even after disabling the key, the crash still happens if you press it... don't really know why, but I thought it's worth mentioning

+8 trainer from inferno causes crash, but if you check the run as admin. (in the properties/compatibility for both the trainer and MassEffect2.exe),it happens randomly and rare.If you don't use too much options it is working.Try use all the resources options first, then save a.s.a.p.(now probably will crash),then just the god and/or ammo option. This should be enough for a comfortable gaming......

hey goddamn: they say this works:
"What you'll need:
- Cheat software ( I use one called "Cheat Engine", google it and download)
- Change Resolution of the Mass effect 2 to > Window > 800 X 600 (Better to work)
Now let's get started:
____________________________________
==Paragon, Renegade Points hack:
-Open the cheat software, and the game
-first you need to know how much of "points" you have on paragon or renegade (I recomend to use this cheat in a new game, so it would be easy to find the var, and I dont know how to get the right number on a already started game :X Sorry)
-if you wanna become paragon, talk to people in the "paragon way" to win paragon points and see the menssages like Ex:[+ 2 paragon points], now you know that you've got a certain amount of points,Scan this number on the CE (cheat engine) , make more things that give paragon points, and on the CE next scan for "Increased value", keep doing this until you've got some large numbers like 256871 and a little one, this little it's your var, click twice, you'll see that this var gone down, click twice on the value of it, and change as you like it. 1250 points = Full Renegade or Full Paragon
Note: for Renegade it's the same, just do renegade choises instead of paragon."
