Red Faction Guerrilla - DVD9 to 2x DVD5

Red Faction Guerrilla - DVD9 to 2x DVD5

1.) Create folders 'DISK1' and 'DISK2' (that's label name) and copy content of DVD9 to folder 'DISK1'

2.) Download Red Faction Guerrilla.msi and copy to 'DISK1' and say yes to overwrite

3.) From 'DISK1\program files\Volition Inc\Red Faction Guerrilla\build\pc\cache' MOVE to 'DISK2\program files\Volition Inc\Red Faction Guerrilla\build\pc\cache' this files:

sounds_r.vpp_pc
terr01_l0.vpp_pc
terr01_l1.vpp_pc
voices_r_FR.vpp_pc
voices_r.vpp_pc

4.) From 'DISK1' copy Autorun.inf to 'DISK2' folder and edit him to like this:

[autorun]
OPEN=0

5.) Burn or make iso's with label DISK1 and DISK2



Install Sequence: DVD1-DVD2-DVD1

DVD 1: 3,73Gb
DVD 2: 3,99Gb

change name of file Red_Faction_Guerrilla.msi to Red Faction Guerrilla.msi

Red Faction Guerrilla (DVD9 to 2xDVD5) Install sequence DVD1-DVD2-DVD1

1) Make temp folders

'temp\RFG_1'
'temp\RFG_2'

2) Copy DVD9 contents to 'temp\RFG_1'

3) Move:

sounds_r.vpp_pc
terr01_l0.vpp_pc
voices_r.vpp_pc
voices_r_FR.vpp_pc
terr01_l1.vpp_pc

files from 'temp\RFG_1\program files\Volition Inc\Red Faction Guerrilla\build\pc\cache' to 'temp\RFG_2\program files\Volition Inc\Red Faction Guerrilla\build\pc\cache'

4) Extract 'Red_Faction_Guerrilla_2xDVD5.7z' contents to 'temp\'

5) Launch 'patch.bat' in 'temp\RFG_1'

6) Create autorun.inf in 'temp\RFG_2':

[autorun]
OPEN=0
ICON=RFG.ico

7) Edit autorun.inf in 'temp\RFG_1':

[autorun]
OPEN=setup.exe
ICON="program files\Volition Inc\Red Faction Guerrilla\rfg_launcher.exe"

8) Burn or make ISOs with same labels name of temp folders

I did exactly, but

DVD1 wear when
gives an error as follows;

1628: Failed to complete installation

What should I do?

DISABLE your AV & Firewall Software. Thats what usually gives the installshield 1628 error. Then try installing again, should work fine.

(skip steps 4-5) all other steps are the same of previous conversion :p

I can confirm peterf1999's conversion works 100% tested in Windows XP and Windows. Gracias :cool:

Installation keeps asking for DVD2 although I inserted it. I tried both 2 methods but it happend the same problem. Somebody can help?

win 7 x64
same problem...

...BUT
go to UAC(User Account Control) and turn it off,
then do the conversion(i used the first method)
now DVD2 works properly and the game works after instalation.
so if you are with vista or win7 turn off the UAC and tryinn this methods

Tested the 123s123 method, and it worked fine on Win 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bits...thanks a lot
