Hi Guys ive just bought the orange box and i get this error message ...
Is this because of my chipset (G31/G33) or is it because i dont own a graphics card ? Im gonna buy a NVIDIA 9800 GT will that help ?
This doesnt just happen on tf2 it happens on all of my mods ive downloaded and the other games in the Orange Box Package
hmm, doesn't look like a driver issue, the crash addresses are from userland, if it was video card related you'd probably bsod
actually... seems it could be a valve game issue.. does this happen on other games too?
if not, try reading here.. it seems you're not alone -> http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=825969 and http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9375312 and finally http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=825841
if it doesn't then heres a few steps i'd suggest
1. if your pc is overclocked then turn the clocking back to normal
2. get latest video card drivers (you're xp right?.. theme looked xp)
3. update direct x
4. if the crash persists, see if you can run the game in safe mode (think team fortress has an option like that)..
5. virus scan (could be something nasty.. the instruction address is quite irregular for a ring 3 application)
6. if all else fails i would suggest an os reinstall
hope that helps
