Hello FREEMAN100,

Your new MSI FILE is no longer available at rapidshare. Would it be possible to re-post it?

Thank you very much,

Albert

topic from 2 years ago.. may not have file anymore here is a do-it yourself.. step #4 has the instructions how-to edit msi file yourself. easy to do.

1) Create 2 Temp folders on your hardrive.
Name one of these folders: LostPlanet_1. This will be the name (Label) of DVD1.
Name the other folder: LostPlanet_2. This will be the name (Label) of DVD2.

Disc 1:
2) Copy the following files from the DVD9 disc to the LostPlanet_1 folder:

0x0409.ini
Autorun.inf
instmsia.exe
instmsiw.exe
Lost Planet Extreme Condition.msi
LostPl~1.cab
LostPl~2.cab
lostplanet.ico
setup.exe
Setup.ini
WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe

3) Using the Notepad open the Autorun.inf file and edit as shown below then Save it:

[autorun]
OPEN=Setup.exe
ICON=lostplanet.ico
label=LostPlanet Disk1

4) Download and Install ‘Orca’
Once Orca is installed, Right Click the file ‘Lost Planet Extreme Condition.msi’ and from near the top of the menu choose ‘Edit with Orca’. (You may have to edit the properties of this file and untick the ‘read only’ attribute, but as it is copied to the hardrive it is probably already edited automatically).
When opened you will see 2 window panes, go to the ‘Tables’ one on the left and scroll down to ‘Media’
Click on ‘Media’ this will show you the entries in the Right pane.
In the ‘VolumeLabel’ column Change line 1 and line 2 to: LostPlanet_1
Again in the ‘VolumeLabel’ column Change line 3 and line 4 to: LostPlanet_2
In the ‘Diskprompt’ column Change line 1 and line 2 to: 1
Again in the ‘Diskprompt’ column Change line 3 and line 4 to: 2
Then ‘Save’ it.

5) Create another folder/s for any Updates, Serial, Patches and or Cracks etc.
NOTE: Name this/these folder/s whatever you want.

6) Burn the contents of the LostPlanet_1 folder to a DVD with the Label: LostPlanet_1

Disc 2:
7) Copy the following files from the DVD9 disc to the LostPlanet_2 folder:

Autorun.inf
LostPl~3.cab
LostPl~4.cab
lostplanet.ico

8) Using the Notepad open the Autorun.inf file and edit as shown below then Save it:

[autorun]
OPEN=0
ICON=lostplanet.ico
label=LostPlanet Disk2

9) Burn the contents of the LostPlanet_2 folder to a DVD with the Label: LostPlanet_2

To install:
Insert Disc 1 and start the install.
When prompted insert Disc 2
When game finishes installing click the ‘Finish’ button, you will then be prompted to insert Disc 1 again.
Insert Disc 1 again and click the ‘Retry’ button.

Note: Because Disc 1 is the last disc to be used it is better to put all patches and cracks etc on Disc 1.
